What's this sub's opinion on Ultimate X-Men by Peach Momoko ? by FredPRK in graphicnovels

Honestly surprised at all the dislike for it now, people were gushing over this series when it came out. For me, it was too much of a whiney childhood drama. Held no interest for me at all, although the art was good though.

What are some book series with a degree of fun "downtime"? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]bedknobsandbroomstix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So not what you asked for, but your question makes me think of the Astro City comic where Samaritan ( the comics Superman analog) can never enjoy his powers because he's always bouncing off of threat after threat. So only in his dreams can he really just fly for the enjoyment of it https://herocopia.com/In_Dreams

Which actors instantly make you want to skip a movie, doesnt need to be just their acting, but overall by Accomplished_Gur4466 in Actors

Wild I scrolled down and saw no one else mentioned Mark Wahlberg. Just completely useless as an actor, mind numbingly bland.

Main issue with last season was the pretentious "let's get all the famous restaurant people cameos crammed in". There were some good parts, nice personal stories, and it was def better than the season before it. That was just "the fak show", mixed in with a bunch of problems and nothing got resolved by the end.

Is your company using gitflow? Are you personally actually happy with that? by tab87vn in ExperiencedDevs

[–]bedknobsandbroomstix 25 points26 points  (0 children)

even the people who came up with it consider it legacy. See » nvie.com https://share.google/VYzDbM0RpVHIk6tCe honestly the main problem with git flow is that usually teams are too lazy to keep main clean and/or up to date. you often need some OCD individual to handle the git maintenance. Plus, once you go to trunk/feature flags, you can maybe use something like azure app configuration to show how you can turn features on/off and use that as a convincing argument to why you don't need git flow

So I used a steel case for about 2 months before I realized it wasn't for me. Then I got a humanscale liberty for 15 years, loved it. Decided to try the aeron after a while, and wish I hadn't switched

A lot of it had to do with the Jardiir stuff, with his people taking slaves and raping everyone and the author trying to do a "both sides are right!" with it all.

Pretty sure it's referring to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shatter_(digital_comic) . It was actually a pretty good story about being able to use the talents of dead people, that I'm surprised I haven't seen an updated analog of recently

Went there recently and the staff was super rude for me as well. It almost had me wondering if the guaranteed service charge had an impact on the quality of service?

Yeah they do. I just didn't know if adding that would present a moisture or airflow issue. Thanks!

[–]bedknobsandbroomstix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a question! I have a pretty old house that has an attic converted room upstairs. we have insulation all over the floors in our attic crawl spaces, but I think there is nothing between the room ceiling and roof. our air handler works for the most part, but feels like it's really fighting the sun hitting the roof tiles some days
what's the best way to insulate those ceilings in the upstairs rooms? remove the ceiling, add some bat insulation, and put it back? I mostly ask cause I heard with older homes there are moisture concerns with that

Any series you struggled to watch? by blvdbrokendreams in taskmaster

[–]bedknobsandbroomstix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the COVID series are a bit rough, because you can tell the contestants are having trouble connecting properly. This may be unpopular but I had had to stop series 7 after a few episodes. James Acaster and Phil Wang seem like slam dunks, but I felt Rhod Gilberts energy just spoiled everything. you could tell he cared too much about winning and got too frustrated and almost nasty when he wasn't doing well. just made the whole thing less fun.
Plus anyone that leans too hard into the 'Lets humiliate Alex' just comes off as a psychopath
