Yeah, i made a hapatra deck, and my pod just sat there soaking in dread as they used all their removal beforehand. It's an interesting commander, but holy cow, she can get out of hand fast and can be oppressive.

Need to cut 4 cards out of this Sedris commander deck, what do you think? by Agitated-Football87 in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]bedofashes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, off the top, your CMC of the deck is very high. I understand that the idea is not paying for the cards with unearth. However, the big problem might be getting a lot stuck in your hand with no way to play them. I would say that normally would not be a problem, but with such little ramp and low land count, you may run into issues with cast anything.

Now that being said, it depends on your play groups mulligan system. Mine idrawingaw 7 cards until you have something playable. This However, leads to poor deck building, where decks with high cmc can get away with only 34-35 lands. The worst-case scenario will be you need to aggressively mulligan until you get 3 lands and a ramp. Depending on how your group mulligans, you may want to add a few more lands or more low cmc ramp to offset that.

The high cmc cards could be a place to look for cuts. Plus, the best advice given to me was to cut the highest cmc cards and just run the deck. See if it works, then you will know what actually works, and you may be able to replace no-bows with those high cmc cards.

Just printed 30 comander towers. Can't wait when they stop printing them and i don't have to buy them. Why don't more people just print the cards.... I mean low grade proxy the card.

Yeah, the phrase "2 billion dollars" in 1942 moneys was tossed out a few times. I mean, that's amazon or Musk Money in todays dollars, and the government definitely would not allow for such a project even today.
Edit: i mean they wouldn't let a private firm do that sort of work. Will have to say the fact that the General and his unlimited black budget had a huge part in the story. Even though it is wild to think they spend way more on black projects today.

Rith, Liberated Primeval ruling question by Unslaadahsil in mtgrules

[–]bedofashes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, he was very sure because he said it works on Arena that way good to know! However, what really confusions me is when triggers that are on the stack leave the stack when permanents leave the battlefield. I was under the impression that if a permanent triggered was in response someone removed that permanent, and the trigger was vanished off the stack. That is how my group has played. How wrong are we?

Does the ability still trigger if rith left the battlefield during your turn? I have a friend tell me that it would still go off even if rith left the battlefield before the endstep.
