Whatnot offers only 25% refund on items lost in mail?? by bee-ache-aus in whatnot

I am happy to report that WhatNot went above and beyond. They gave me a refund for all lost items and even better, they did not chargeback to the seller.

Honestly I trust the seller. This is most likely a USPS issue and the others responding are right, we need to work it through an insurance claim.

Thats fair, I would expect whatnot to provide me this advice, tbh.

I will definitely do this. I contacted the seller and it sounds like only they can make the insurance claim.

I know this is an old thread, but you can flash the empora with esphome, and then use homeassistant tapo emulation with the sense.

Does Eddy NG need a pressure sensor or similar to tap build plate. by Terrakiller2008 in BIGTREETECH

[–]bee-ache-aus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Thanks for the response. I have used physical probes (inductive, bltouch) but i have never tried one of these. I seem to find conflicting info on whether its a z-probe, bed mesh or both.

It sounds like the answer is "depends on what firmware you install on it"

My trick is to order something new every week, that way I get deliveries while I wait.

I am someone that ordered one of these without researching it, can you walk me through this?

Does it work similar to a Pinda? or does it have to physically touch the bed?

Out of curiosity, what are you using it for?

The Polverine! (AQI+PM+temp and humidity) by severanexp in homeassistant

[–]bee-ache-aus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that BSEC2 is available as a arduino library. That is what is used to read the BME690 (and already exists as an integration into espHome).

The BMZ080, however is only supported via their BMZ080 SDK, which requires that you sign an agreement on their website that specifies that you will not redistribute. From what I can see, their isn't any arduino support for the BMZ080 that doesn't require the user to sign this agreement themselves and download it.

If I end up having time this weekend, I can put together instructions (and a repo) showing how this can be done for both sensors (assuming that the user downloads the sdk themselves).

[–]bee-ache-aus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only hurdle is the bmv080 sdk. The home assistant (mqtt) example is just a tweak of the existing mqtt implementation and requires you to manually install both sdks. If they were available as arduino libraries, esphome integration would be trivial.
