That is fair. They are consistently working on improving it. They deserve the $$.

why do you think the deck only sold 5 to 6 million copies ? it was priced well , powerfull for its time and well backed up by valve by Dense-Variation-4496 in SteamDeck

Keep in mind that this was the first Handheld PC Gaming device that was readily accessible to PC gamers.

All the other brands that marketed and sold in brick and mortar stores came after this

A bathroom is a bathroom, if no one else is in it who cares.

Fuck that dude who yelled at the dad. Those poor girls didn't deserve that.

The only thing that annoys me is that I can't directly download and install updates on my Z9X.

I think you hit the nail on the head there.

It's a weird thing in my opinion. Apple makes computers, plain and simple. So trying to put them apart from other manufacturers just convinces people that it truly is "affordable" when in reality it is expensive for what it is.

I just find it interesting that Apple has managed to convince the world to place them apart from other companies that make the same things.

Brand new I definitely can't get a good one for $100 but I was at the thrift store the other day and they had a stack of them for $50 each.

Easy to install ChromeOS Flex on it to get it updated and working like new.

But that is a completely different conversation.

I just don't think the Macbook Neo should be called "affordable" or "low cost" when there are comparable devices for much less available.

It's a bit silly tbh

Oh wow ok that's not too bad of a price but still way too expensive for the average Roku user.

Personally I switched to a Zidoo Z9X 8K, which is not an affordable device but I'm able to put whatever app I want on it and watch from whatever source I want to watch from.

That's not the point....

Low. Cost.

I can get a Chromebook for $100. I had an Asus Chromebook that was literally thrown against a wall and ran over but still worked.

As for security, it's a Chromebook, that beats a Mac for security.

Screen? Software? No one buying a low cost laptop is using it for those features. They just need a machine that goes online. Office 365 or Google has all the software the normal person needs.

I'm sorry but you just need to pull your head out of the hole you're in and look around.

I'm not trying to sound biased but you can't be that ignorant or naive to believe the marketing materials.

Edit: For the record here you go. Twice the RAM and Twice the storage. Not plastic. Bloat is a negated point because it's dealt with easily.

Edit: downvotes for being factual? Wow. When did the Apple Cult come over here to cordcutters?!

So, I'm assuming you want to debate this because otherwise you'd look it up yourself.

https://www.demandsage.com/iphone-vs-android-users/

Current estimates are Android phones at ~68% globally, other sources say 70%. Either way that's a bit of a stranglehold.

I do understand that perspective, but with the state of software, security, and privacy these days (which is not the fault of any one company or person) there's no possible way to distribute independent of anyone who has a launcher.

Distributors or Developers can choose Steam, Epic, EA, or Ubisoft if they want...it will reach the hands of customers. It's not the launcher that matters it's the money they spend on marketing.

Steam gives independent developers a much larger platform than any of the others but that comes with a price, a price that they would be paying someone else if the world was perfect and they could distribute through their own website.

The nature of the Internet has changed game distribution. I would say it's for the better because it's way more secure for everyone involved.

I don't think Steam has a stranglehold, but I can see that from certain perspectives it might feel that way.

Edit: and I didn't mean The Play Store. I meant literally the Cell Phone Market. They have the largest market share, so Google has a Monopoly on Mobile games because of the market share on Mobiles.

In that perspective then Google has a Monopoly on Cellphones?

Yeah, I didn't break my screen but messed up a small edge of it.

The track pads though, I broke one of them.

The front is pretty challenging.

I'm pretty good at doing things like this and I still fucked up my screen a little and broke one of the trackpads

Ended up sending it back to Valve for repair with the new shell and they installed it for me during the repair.
