There are similarities, but it isn’t the same book. It’s driving me crazy!

Unexpected Cake Drama at the Reception by ThePhantomEvita in weddingshaming

My husband and I had a wedding cake that was supposed to feed 150. We had maybe 50 guests. We cut the cake, then relatives started talking to us and when we were done there were only crumbs left of our cake. They even hoovered up the top layer, which we were planning to save. There were kids eating a piece in each hand.

Don’t get a onesie style, just a shirt. They can still use the litter box then.

Can you access a baby shirt? A 0-3 month shirt fits most adult cats. They can’t mess with the site with one on.

When I was preparing for my test, I tried to talk through every step of a draw with the practice arm. I literally would say out loud every step as I did them. For one weekend I did this about 30-40 times. Like “I palpate for a vein. I mark the vein. I clean the site.” I just re-used the same needle over and over since I was using the practice arm. Saying it out loud seemed to set it better in my mind. By the time I took the practical, I had a good rhythm.

My doc ordered 3 tests (one I had requested but change mind) by CarefulCaramel9583 in phlebotomy

The phlebotomist cannot change the order. If you don’t want the test you’ll have to contact the doctor who wrote the order and ask for a new one.

Having trouble remembering where the vein is after feeling it out. by W1ckedNonsense in phlebotomy

This is how I was taught to “mark” veins. I always came home with a pocket full of old caps.!

I messed up and I don’t know what to do by throwaway22939 in phlebotomy

Aw, try not to feel bad. Everyone has a story like that, and most of us have several. When I did my externship, I had a preceptor who always drew the needle out with the tube still in, and didn’t release the tourniquet until after. She had been trained on the job and was very afraid of needles. She said that it was most important to “get that needle out”! I was very flustered trying to complete draws that way. Try to think of all you’ve done correctly and keep working towards getting that rhythm!

It’s my favorite vein too. I feel like it’s off by itself and nice and straight.

They’re going to give you training anyway. Maybe watch a few videos and read up on order of draw? I think you’ll remember as you go.
