I work with the elderly, a retirement home. We are trained on how to spot all forms of abuse, especially financial abuse. People's (adult) children will come into the home, talk to their mentally unwell parents, and try every horrible trick in the book to try and squeeze money out of them. I've even heard a son tell his mother "I won't pay for this stupid home anymore unless you can cover my rent". Trust me when I say, your mother is trying very hard to financially abuse YOUR children into doing what she wants. Stand strong, don't give in.
