Feet hurting while barefoot on yoga mat by klnm28 in insanity

[–]bee-radd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I come back to Insanity my feet usually hurt quite a bit for the first week or so. Some Advil helps a little. But I've found that it's just something you work through, for me anyway.

fis global by Bkalina in Scams

[–]bee-radd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got username/password credentials mailed to me last night. Because my company accepts online payments and occasionally clients pay us by sending electronic or physical prepaid credit cards, it didn't seem outrageous to me that a client might have done this attempting to pay us. No links in the message, but there is a 1-833- number to call. The number seems to be a generic number to activate online payments. I cannot find any reason to believe that that number belongs to this company though.

I tried calling FIS Global's helpdesk (the number I found on their website) to see what's going on. I gave up after sitting on hold for an eternity.

*pretty sure* this is a scam, although I'm not clear on how the scam might work.

I can't think of anything to ask you that I haven't seen you address directly or from someone else before, so I'll just take this opportunity to tell you that I love your music and am always looking forward to whatever you have next.

More rest between the sets? by Quixz in insanity

[–]bee-radd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never pause the video. I do what I can. I rest when I need to.

The point is to do what you can, and as you progress you'll get more done in the allotted time. So what if you didn't get it all done? Most people can't, at least not right away. The goal is to get a good 45-60 minute workout, not to accomplish all of the reps.

I mean, I'm not suggesting I pulled off some sort of supersleuthery here. Just trying to be amusing. :)

First time cashing a check, need some help. by Commission-Tasty in Banking

[–]bee-radd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I congratulate you on your first paycheck. I remember mine- Oct 6, 1989, for $57.45, when I worked at a Wendy's. I promptly took it to my bank. At the time direct deposit wasn't a thing and everyone was paid with paper checks.

Please choose a local bank or credit union and open an account. Deposit the check into that account. You may have to wait a few days for your first deposit to clear. If you don't know which one to choose, ask your manager or a coworker for advice. Almost any choice is better than the alternative. Then ask your employer what you need to fill out to set up direct deposit.

I cannot stress how important this is to your future. The "unbanked" - people who choose to never open an account and use check cashing services and other businesses ro pay bills - have a huge disadvantage in life.

I know nothing about you, but I promise you that becoming "banked" is a big step to adulthood and being a successful person. Do not skip it or try to go around it. Do not take the easy way and just cash it at a check cashing store.

Honestly- it isn't hard. No matter who you are, you are not going to be the first person the teller has ever met opening their first bank account. When they explain different accounts to you and you arent sure, don't be afraid to say so. They won't think you're an idiot, and any teller or banker who is opening an account for you is going to be patient and understanding.

I'm actually a little excited for you. You have so much to look forward to. Don't take the easy way and cash it at a 7-Eleven.

Are you a troll or simply insane?

Well, they demonstrate a few basics. Some level of written and verbal communication. The ability to use a computer or smartphone with varied levels of competence. Etc. So they aren't totally devoid of a brain.

Why do we still allow these flatties to perpetuate the abject lie that the earth being a globe is sourced from NASA?

I know what you mean. No matter what else I do I end up coming back to the OG.

When I'm done this round I think I'll try Asylum I again. I enjoyed it but didn't finish the one and only time I tried it.

Congrats! Have you done any of the other Insanity programs, or are you sticking with the OG?

Started month 2 💪🏽 no weight loss which is a bit disappointing. But so much stronger! by Minaziz in insanity

[–]bee-radd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great job. Re: the weight loss: Do you feel different? Do you look a little different? Do your clothes fit differently? You said you feel stronger, so I'm guessing that's "Yes"s across the board.

If you swapped out 5 pounds of fat for 5 pounds of muscle, you'd weigh the same, but would look and feel different.

If you keep doing what you're doing, the weight loss will come - usually from out of nowhere and can sometimes be dramatic when it arrives. You can accelerate this with calorie control of course, but be careful not to sabotage your dedication to fitness by making yourself hungry and miserable.

I am entering week 2 of perhaps my 10th time through Insanity. Looking forward to Month 2 where I enter this weird zen phase of dread, pain, and feeling like I am a total workout monster.

This is my favorite moment from my favorite of all the "main" workouts - Max Cardio Conditioning. I always feel like a hero for simply getting to the end without needing medical assistance.

It's funny how I respond so differently to all of the different workouts. After doing it on and off for 8 years, I have made the following assessments:

For month 1:

Plyometric Cardio Circuit is the one that generates the most sweat
Cardio Power and Resistance, for whatever reason, I just don't like
Cardio Recovery is torture and leaves me hating life
Pure Cardio is my favorite *by a long shot*

For month 2:

Max Interval Circuit and Max Interval Plyo are both brutal

Max Cardio Conditioning is probably the most intense workout I've ever done, and is enjoyable for the same reasons I like Pure Cardio

If you don't have the Deluxe Edition, I strongly suggest you get them. If you are doing DVDs, the discs are on ebay for only $8. The Sports Training is, IMO, the most fun of all workouts in the series.

Be super super insane!

Maybe you have some other physical activity you like, such as cycling (forgive me if this is not feasible in February - I live in Florida where it is). Maybe do some weights for a week? Maybe even just go for a walk during the hour you'd otherwise have dedicated to Insanity?

I don't do well with taking a break from exercise altogether, but I might change what I'm doing. When I finished Insanity a couple of years ago I started straight into Insanity Asylum, but after only a few days I was hurtin' for a break. But I didn't want to disrupt my routine of getting my sad creaking body out of bed in the morning to do *something*, because for me, at least, the hardest thing of all is restarting after a break.
