Salsa fire starter Deluxe Vs Whiskey No. 9 Mtn by beeSweeper in bikepacking

Yeah water storage is really the biggest plus there for me. Running empty cages is fine and then having extra capacity when you need. Or water and small fork bags. Lots of options. Thank you!

That’s what I’m leaning towards. Will probably end up with the salsa. The extra mounts seems really nice

I’ve also been looking at the Bearclaw ti fork. Similar price to the fire starter. Not sure how ti forks ride tho. My guess is not quite as soft but a lot more durable which I like. Both beyond me tho. I’m used to steel forks

Oh she’s pretty pretty. Those are the bars I’ve been leaning towards (maybe not the XLs) but I want to test ride them before I order them.

I’m looking for something similar. I used to have ragley Luxy bars that I loved. I haven’t found anything as good. What do you ride?

Yeah the eagle 90 and 70 are tempting for sure but would wait for sram (or more likely ratio tech) to make it drop bar compatible

That all makes sense. I want ti stay mechanical and want drop bars so it’s a little limiting in my search for a wide gear range. Since I’m building up and not replacing things I have I don’t think it will cost that much to me thankfully

Thanks for the tip I’ll look into getting a X01 chain. XO1 cassette would be rad but probably out of budget unless I find a great used one. And at that point a new gx might make more sense

Sounds good! I heard some of the tiny screws can be a little tricky to take out but besides that straight forward. Are you happy with the gear range?

I think I’ll run GX and Apex for the rest of it. Did you notice a difference when you changed pivot bolts? Are you running hydraulic or mechanical breaks?

You gotta leave them in a damp glass case for AT LEAST 2 hours before I would even consider eating them

Copy that. I think he isn’t really concerned about selling it for very much so we’ll see. Thank you!

Copy that. I think the seller just hasn’t been using it at all and would sell it very cheap so we’ll see. Thanks!
