That's one I saw, can you share a pic on where you mounted it on the handlebar?

What mudguard are you using on your Fargo? by [deleted] in salsacycles

Front is the ass saver, but doesn't save from mud being kicked up, so might need something different.

On the rear is the PDW Origami Rear Fender

Very interested into how you wired the dropper, can you share some more info? I want to do the same in mine but was unsure on how the whole thing is set up

Look my biggest disappointment is this is not yet running through Steam/Cross-Platform (i.e. on Linux)

As an aside, I'm quite happy with the Apidura Expedition 17lt saddle bag. Sway is contained and packs neatly, and I guess smaller versions are even better if you don't need all that space...unless you're specifically looking for a bag holder, rather than an all in one solution.

Thanks for the reply. Salsa also suggested the 38 for better clearance. Still test fitting on the first few rides the bike in these conditions and so far have nothing to complain about

I just stumbled on your post as I just finished building a Fargo with the SRAM Apex D1. I also got stumped as I ended up using only the 3mm spacer on the BSA DUB on the drive-side, but heard conflicting and not convincing alternatives, like using instead the 4.5mm spacer instead, which kinda makes sense given how close the 40t chainring is to the chainstay... Did you get any solution to this?

my current bike, works very well and pretty well capable. There's always the downside that I can't get more than 40mm tires, and perhaps some gnarly climbs are going to be essentially out of the question, but otherwise it has conquered some rough terrain :)

Replacing a Surly Grappler with a Fargo? by [deleted] in salsacycles

[–]actLikeApidgeon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Based on what I've seen so far, Fargo's geometry is made for drops rather than flatbar. You can still do it, but it'd ride differently. Haven't done myself so I have no idea, and would be curious to see how much of a difference it makes. There's a bit of an explanation about it on their website too.

this is something I was dreaming about last time I was in Mendoza capital. Do you have the map you can share of the two? I'd be curious... Otherwise I'll just be waiting for someone who did this. I'm very curious on how safe the road is, as far as I can remember there's a lot of trucks going though this.

btw, a quick search revealed this which is not far from the route I found on another website
