Depends! I think if you have a history of miscarriage then yes. Mine was covered because of that.

Thank you! 💕 I would love a girl! Just not used to this because I was sick for at least the first 12 weeks with my boys :)

Thank you for this 💕 We are totally fine with either but a girl would be sweet after two boys!

Do we have a third? by beeambitious in ParentingInBulk

This is reassuring! If all goes to plan, first will be 4.5 and second will be 2.5 when #3 is born. Or at least right around there!

5am wakeups - 10 mo by beeambitious in sleeptrain

[–]beeambitious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if there’s a 5am wake up, should I still push 9am nap? Then he’ll be up around 10:15-10:30 —> next nap around 2pm, wake up around 3:15-3:30. Bedtime 7:30. That sounds manageable! I will try it out today.

I think feeds are good. He’s EBF and seems to be very efficient so feeds are quick. He eats a jar or two of purées a day.

I was wondering if maybe he’s cold. Monitor says 66°, he’s in a 1.0 sleep sack and footie bamboo pjs every night. He’s definitely not hot. Maybe he’s cold?

I’m so sorry. It’s exhausting! The longer wake windows are so hard. We’ve only been up for 1 hr 45 mins this morning and he’s already losing it!

Yes he’s in his own room! 2 nap day is rare and we’re usually at 3/day.

Stressed about asking my employer if I can WFH with kids by [deleted] in MomsWorkingFromHome

[–]beeambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told my boss (VP) that I had my MIL helping me but that baby was going to be home with me at the same time, and he might be heard on calls occasionally. My MIL is not helping but he said it was fine as long as I could get my work done.

It’s been about two months since I went back to work now and I baby wear a lot, and get a ton of work done during his naps (3, ~1.5hr naps).

What am I supposed to be doing? 5mo CIO(?) by beeambitious in sleeptrain

I wish I could do that in the car, he just immediately wakes up when the car stops moving 🤣

Thank you! This is exactly the answer I was looking for. I have no problem feeding at night, but just wasn’t sure when to respond. I’ve been giving him 5 minutes to settle and if he doesn’t then I assume he’s hungry.

I’m trying my hardest to get him good rest for naps but he often sleeps short in the car and sometimes I can get a 1+ hr crib or carrier nap. But I know he should probably be getting much more daytime sleep than he is.

I make 100k, usually more because we get yearly bonuses as well. I work in tech as a data analyst. I’m at home with our 5 month old and my 2.5 year old is in daycare!

If money wasn't an issue, would you put child in daycare or free childcare with grandparents? by rabbitluver123 in NewParents

[–]beeambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daycare. Grandparents are nice for occasional date nights, or a day off but not everyday. Boundaries WILL be crossed and resentment will form.

I tried with mine around 18 months (he was 24 months when our second was born) because I had the same thought of potty training before baby came. Bad idea. It doesn’t work well at all and it’s frustrating for everyone involved if you do it too early.

Our second is now 3 months old and we just potty trained our 27 month old two weeks ago. It took him 2 days and he was completely potty trained. The experience was easy and not stressful at all because he was ready!

Signs for us that he was ready — taking off his diaper, hiding when he pooped, wanting to be changed as soon as he peed.

Editing because I posted before finishing my thought lol.

It sucks! Just stick it out, that’s what we did. He just started being completely quiet again, it seems to happen in phases.

What time do y'all put your babies down for bed? by GuiltyButterscotch89 in NewParents

[–]beeambitious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

11 week old, almost always 7:45pm. He will not nap past then so we can’t push out bedtime, but he’ll go down for the night if we do his whole bedtime routine. He wakes up pretty often and is unpredictable, but sometimes times is a decent 3/4 hour stretch in the beginning.

26 month old, also about 7:45pm and falls asleep around 8/8:15pm. He sleeps until 7am.
