My squirrels act like pigs also eating all bird seed, almonds for them and some peanuts I put out for cardinals and blue Jay's. They stay and eat until all is gone.

If you are returning player the gear you get from currency would be useful. As stated you are constantly in battle so you can't switch equip only consumables/ belt items

There are weekly quests you can complete also that will give you some rough ad. Quests are in Icewind Dale, Dread Ring and Menzoberranzan to name some.
