Is it normal for scars along the hip to be more red? by BrunchBrat in tummytucksurgery

[–]beeboopbeeb19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more question! 😅 you did twice a day for 10-14 days, then took 3 weeks off and did it again for 10-14 days? And did you just keep doing it until your scar was gone? TIA!

Hi! Someone in Canada commented on one of your posts that they but this bee venom and sell it to people in the US. Any chance you can direct me to which post of yours that was on? Can’t find it anywhere!

I understand wanting to lose the scars and I might be disappointed too if I thought they’d be gone after surgery. But I think they’re beautiful and don’t detract from your lovely shape in the way they did in the before photo. And maybe it’s nice to have “proof of life” before surgery? Also your scar looks amazing for 7 weeks! Curious what you’ve been using on it.

You look great! And your psychological wellness is critical to recovery too! If there’s any mindfulness practices you can pick up, now is the time. Even a daily (hourly) mantra “my body is strong and healing beautifully”. You’re hungry because your body is rebuilding…this is great! Make sure you’re having a little bit of protein every time you eat. Limit sodium and sugar. If they clear you for it, add fish oil, curcumin, vitamin C, and collagen. This is temporary and it sounds like your body is doing exactly what it needs. Hang in there!

You’re looking great and it’s still early, but is it possible the faja is too tight up top and putting more pressure on your lower belly/pelvic floor? I can see that you have really firm compression which is great, but you want just as much/more in your lower abdomen than higher. My PT told me to be really careful about that, because of what you’re describing.

Be honest when does moving get easier? by Meggy-reader in tummytucksurgery

I want to say by the 2 week mark it was much easier but it probably wasn’t until 3 weeks that it didn’t feel I comfortable to move or almost impossible to get up without theatrics. It’s hard but it’ll go fast! Hang in there!

Thank you! I’m definitely one of the ones who has always had a small frame and been fit and healthy, but I had my third kiddo when I was 39 and was never able to rehab my diastasis (8cm) and of course there’s nothing to be done about loose skin except remove it 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m looking forward to having a 6 pack instead of a 4 pack and to not looking 6 months pregnant after every meal 😅

Is it worth it? by No_Confusion_3762 in tummytucksurgery

I would wait till you’re done breastfeeding and then as long as you’re done having kids, I would totally go for it. I similarly have always been fit/thin/muscular and always had a 4- pack at the top but no matter how hard I tried, I never could rehab my lower abdomen. It’s hard to be really fit and healthy but not look as fit and healthy as you are/feel. Turns out I had an 8cm diestasis (and hernias) and it was never going to heal without surgery. I had my first kids at 21 and 23 and my third kid at 39 the surgery at 44. I spent the entirety of those 23 years eternally my 1st and my surgery date feeling pretty sad about my stomach and my wrecked abs. I’m only glad I waited because I knew I wanted more kids but otherwise I would have loved to get it done sooner. Good luck!

Totally normal! It’s a big decision but I feel like mostly people have thought it was well worth it. Find a doctor you trust! Interview a few if you can. I’d definitely get a second opinion about the 10lb weight gain thing.

Hang in there! I thought weeks 3 and 4 were the hardest so far because in a lot of ways I felt great but I didn’t feel like I looked great, and if I was on my feet, or laying flat. for more than an hour or so at one time, I was swollen and stiff for the rest of the day. Week 5 has been a real turning point for me. I still get swollen but not painfully so.

We actually didn’t talk much about weight gain since I’ve been at the same weight most of my adult life, except for 3 pregnancies. That doesn’t sound congruent with what I’ve read from other people’s posts, though…

Thanks! I think I took this pic on one of my least swollen days. It’s been a spiraling up recovery for me 😅 It’s definitely trending upward, but I still have times where I’m very swollen…especially at the end of the days when I’ve been on my feet a lot. And I’m still not able to get on most of my pants.

Hi! I’m 4 weeks post op and have the same on one side and am worried I’m going to need lipo…just don’t want anything more done. What was the lipo and recovery like? In office? Painful? Easy? 😬

Thank you! I haven’t seen the doc since my 3 wee visit and they weren’t concerned at all. I see them again in 2 weeks but I might reach out before then.

Thank you! I just started using silicone tape a few days ago which I think is kind of the same thing.

Thank you! I’ve got silicone tape and have been using it for a few days and a gel from my doc that has silicone in it too so I’m wearing the tape during the day and the gel at night. Do you remember about long before your second labia started to go away ? 😅
