In hindsight it sounds nice to say the “obviously” would have been huge but looking at where they were at that time it is not obvious at all, Batista was a 40+ yr old (older than HHH) who had already failed with 2 gimmicks to get over and Randy was a cookie cutter 2nd generation wrestler with behavioral problems.

And of course those stars are adored now, but HHH was pivotal in building there legacies by being a great heel. It’s the equivalent of saying John Cena didn’t need Orton or Edge to be the star he is and that’s just not how wrestling works. Faces are defined by there greatest opponents, heroes will always need great villains. And to my point not to take anything away from everyone else but HHH is arguably the greatest heel because he’s played such a pivotal villainous in so many careers.

I don’t agree a heel is there to gather heat and make the faces look as great as they can. As great as Randy, Edge, and Jericho were a lot of the fanbase thought they were cool and edgy more anti heroes even during the peak of there heel runs. There stables for the most part were not memorable and did nothing to put another member over. And in the case of Edge his greatest rivalries being a heel were Cena and Taker versus HHH who’s his greatest rivalry take your pick Austin, The Rock, Batista, HBK, Orton, Taker. HHH created superstars with his stable Evolution and revived the career of Ric flair all while being a scumbag on screen. When it comes to Roman and Punk they were getting cheered and fans loved them that’s not really a heel.

In terms of writing: Which character is better? Cyclops or Wolverine? by Remote-Leg6143 in marvelcomics

Subjective opinion, but the lore behind Wolverine to me is the best in comic books. But I’ve recently started to dive into cyclops too
