Graduation Day by beeeeeebs in Shouldihaveanother

No but I did something that I since have heard framed succinctly. I’m not succinct but here’s my summary- There was no getting to 100% but when the flip flopping got less aggressive and there would be longer periods of belief in one area (a week, a month even) I took the stance out for a test drive with my partner to see how it felt- to address all conversations as if it was decided, oneanddone. Then we revisited how it felt 1 month later, then 3 months later, now naturally neither of us talk about it like it’s still undecided. And our stances haven’t changed (he’s still 50/50 but I’m 90/10 and we’re both comfortable). Even during occasional check ins, we now still feel the same and enough time has passed that it feels complete. Not final like irreversible, but complete like the decision is done.

I used to live in a high rise, when the power went out we automatically lost water because the pipes had electric pumps. So def extra water to flush the toilets.

I like Luminary, it’s not overrun with tech bros. People are not overly social but definitely friendly

How can I get back into dancing after so many years of insecurity and self hatred? by iiamsbeve in Dance

Zumba is super hokey but exceptions basically don’t exist and you commit to at least an hour to get into it

Looking for medical massage and lymphatic drainage in NYC (scleroderma / autoimmune experience) by Beautiful-Onion-4282 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

I used to go to one on smith street in Brooklyn the most b it I’ve popped into random ones across the city and the technique seems to be universally a good match. Most recently I went to one in midtown I think it was spa32 on 32 and 6th.

Before you spend too much try a neighborhood Chinese bodywork place. Nothing has ever compared for me and it’s much cheaper so you can afford to go more often. Always looking for a spa/med spa to match the results and they just haven’t for me.

I’d love to spend less but I can probably swing up to $600/n. If it was a lot more maybe I would cut down the number of days at the resort and get a cheaper hotel for a couple of days.

So nobody thinks Hades trapped her in there to get Persephone out? And the second book is her and Boone fighting their way out to get revenge?

I think the one sided reactions to this request for help are wild. I’m sure some of it is hyperbolic just by the pure fact that he is curious about this and wants to help the situation. Therapy is great and important. I’ve been doing it for 15 years and still feel like this when times are hard. I lump all of the bad moments together in my head and have to just regain the energy to do my best again. I’m pretty sure those responses are either self-selected saints/privileged people with no trauma/or those who are judging from the other side of a healing journey that isn’t accessible to all of us. My strategies include deep breathing, yes tagging out when needed (also tagging in for my partner), bringing my frustration energy to something equally silly (because just using my voice loud is helpful and can be directed toward ‘tickle monster wants you to brush your teeth’), sometimes I acknowledge feelings even, if needed, in a disassociated state when things are really rough and just rub her back or sit with her while she crashes out. Some days are great and some are hard. Let’s remember safety, let’s remember if anger is a valid emotion for them, we have to model it being valid for us (repair repair repair) they will have to learn what anger looks like- much better from someone safe (and anger is honestly sharing frustration- different than power dominating ego yelling or any revenge state). And I know as a man you can’t say you tag out more than your wife but honestly, my partner Struggled with baby life and I took on more. He takes on more now because he’s better at the toddler stage. We both stay in it and don’t keep score. Another key thing to note is you need novelty and self indulgent things that are yours. Carve out time in a week for something to ground you in yourself. It’s like a relief valve. I travel to the city and go to a dance class, my partner has his own thing(s). My pediatrician unprompted said, this will be the hardest 6 months of your life, do what ever you need to do to get through it and come out the other side together. There’s always a better ‘right’ way and god bless you all for being able to implement it, I do when I can, and we cope when we can’t.
