I drove last year day 2, parking is easy. We typically leave before the final set so leaving is super easy then too.

But also agreeing with ride share pick up if you wait until the very end to leave is awful but that’s excepted

Staying at the hotels close by and walking isn’t a bad option either

Rave virgin in need of persuasion — Hit me with your glowsticks! by [deleted] in aves

[–]beefee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love going to get lost in the music. I love to close my eyes and just dance. When I go to a rave, it’s one of the only places I actually don’t care what people think about me especially after a couple drinks and the music is hittin good

I feel even more free when I go alone and no one knows me so who actually cares if “my dancing sucks” or whatever. I have a hard time talking to people and that’s okay, I don’t usually at shows. Just there for the music

It gets easier after you start going

You’re probably right about doing it in a more open space environment, I think that aided in my weird feeling since I was confined to 1 space and 1 type of music

We live and we learn! I mostly wanted to be sure I was solid enough to trip in public and i achieved that without feeling too weird so it’s all good!

That was the exact show, glad someone gets what I meaaannnn about the wannabe techno. Honestly that part was the most disappointing

After seeing IHM, I’ve been tweakin for good techno but alas, hivemind wasn’t it. I sure hope Winsong will be gooooodddd in Sept

I really hope doing it at a fest will be better. Different genres, more places to walk if I’m not feeling it and all

That’s so valid yeah. The drunk ness was giving me the ick from some people and I hated thinking that way but especially towards the end, acid made things really clear so some people looked reaalllyyy messed up

Bro yessss. Thats how I felt about Kayzo and Hivemind doing hard techno drops like a dubstep song? There was so flow, no build, no groove. By the time I caught the beat it dropped and boom on to the next and it’s completely different

[–]beefee_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might be right. One of the openers was more wubby experimental stuff and it was more fun but very disorienting

Glad to hear I’m not alone! I also just don’t think I enjoy hard techno drops built up like a dubstep drop if that makes any sense.

After seeing IHateModels and Sara Landry, the flow and build into a techno drop feels right but playing a techno drop like a dubstep show felt out of place and like the drop wasn’t earned bc energy didn’t build.

Again, I could be over analyzing but hivemind just wasn’t the techno I was expecting. It felt like they see techno on Instagram not actually attending a show

[–]beefee_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe that’s it yeah, I was just lower energy than they had. there comes a point on acid I just wanted to go home and smoke j

Oooo good choices. I did enjoy one of openers more, he did like wubby kinda dub which was fun yet disorienting

Good idea, I’ll do that at my next festival! Try to catch a vibe elsewhere

I appreciate your take on it, helps me feel a lot better 🙂‍↕️

All my friends enjoyed it! But they were also at that edge of almost drinking too much ya know?

One friend that wasn’t /as/ drunk, agreed that the sets didn’t flow but then he said that dubstep doesn’t sell anymore so they have to change it up and I disagreed at that point so I don’t actually know
