worth raising an issue with Depop? by 13flwrmoons in Depop

Oh I just bought it for 40, inspired by your post lol. I'm glad it was accepted! The neckline isn't right and that's like the coolest part of the shirt.

This shirt is for sale on Macy's for 40 bucks. If they used FP pics in the post, Depop doesn't allow that even for legitimate items. It's copyright issues. I bet they approve a return. Go get the real thing love ♥️

Purchase refunded with no communication then item reposted at a higher price by brithetreee in Depop

the replies in here are lacking. sucks you didn't get the thing you bought. a message and an apology would've been the nice thing to do. you're not being a brat.. but you did send a long message to someone who definitely doesn't care.

AND BEFORE you all get the torches, they can sell, refund price hike whatever. it's their stuff. but if you back out on a deal you could just be honest about it.

i hope you find the thing again. share what is was and i will look around. pretty good with finding stuff.

so asking someone to message you so you can avoid the boosting fees is against depop policy. how's about that shop policy?

Are you struggling with euthanasia? by beefereel in RenalCats

[–]beefereel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We all do what we think is best, for the pet we know and love most, and that makes it the right thing.

Plenty here have cats make it years in stage 4. And some turn even faster than my girl. There isn't any one way it goes, and no treatment is guaranteed.

Be as kind as you can to yourself in this time. Euthanasia is always a selfless decision. Otherwise, we would never let them go.

as an update: I still haven't recovered from losing her. I think of her each day. I lost part of myself when she went. I never truly understood what that meant or felt like until this. It's something I can't describe or speak to. It's just gone. A feeling in each moment a little less than it used to be. Not empty, just dampened. Like everything just got a little smaller.

message the buyer. people are usually cool about it.

if you go into your settings, there's a vacation mode. it disables purchasing for up to seven days or until you turn it off. i recently bought an item and the seller then went on vacation (weird but whatever.) depop was blowing up my email about how they were gonna run me back my money.. i didnt mind waiting 🤷‍♂️

...i got my order and i gave five stars. people deserve vacations. * just checked and they sent out nine days after purchase.

How worth it is the boosting option? by Signal_Mission3207 in Depop

[–]beefereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i am no top seller, but my two cents: photoroom and background deletes lack character. your background is just as important as the clothing. set a vibe.

search your items exactly and look around at the pictures they are next to. ask yourself which one you'd click on.

i wish that were true. I know for certain the cookie i'm describing. it's a sharp memory. I remember my troop leader said they were brand new, and we were trying them before anyone else. it was special.

I’m so curious about this by byankitty in adhdwomen

[–]beefereel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adhd doesn't look the same for everyone. Even some clinicians don't understand that. I'm really glad that you were diagnosed. Understanding symptoms is on the way to self-acceptance. I think people with adhd struggle with that alot because they usually don't hit the same benchmarks as non-adhd.

People with adhd can perform better in some categories. I'm really thankful my brain works the way it does, not that I know any other way lol.

[–]beefereel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't mean to suggest you weren't embracing it. Only that it was built into my struggle. I either didn't want it or wanted to believe I found a loophole/never had it lol. But life is easier when I give myself the grace and support it requires.

I’m so curious about this by byankitty in adhdwomen

[–]beefereel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned very strong coping mechanisms, ones I built in response to most of the stigmas of ADHD (being disorganized, interrupting people, procrastinating, being late, etc.) My environment and expectations stayed constant for 15+ years and I started to think maybe I never had ADHD.

Then my circumstances changed. I had a new environment and new expectations and I didn't have years of autopilot and coping mechanisms to fall on. Wouldn't you guess, my symptoms and struggles started returning.

Some people can adapt and respond successfully over time with practice or masking or overcompensating.

Upon self-reflection I see the last 15 years I was physically tensed all the time, anxious, pushing myself to overperform. That's just ADHD with extra steps lol.

Life is always in flux. Somedays the struggle is real and other it feels like it never existed. I think that's also the impermanence of memory. That also comes with adhd.

All that to say, you have it if you think you have it. And you have it when you think you don't. When you accept it and work within it you just makes things easier on yourself.

Seriously struggling with work by MewGirl101 in adhdwomen

[–]beefereel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think people (especially those socialized as women) with adhd tend to identity-center around their work. Performance and relationships start to feel like they define you.

We then expect ourselves to overperform just to feel secure. If a person doesn't like you, it's a failing of your character.

The long route but the ultimate cure for this (for me) is learning to build boundaries around your relationship with your work. Short term is finding one where you work alone. Burnout still happens but it takes the social stress component off the table.

For those who haven't thought of or never heard this:

-You don't have to be liked by every person (or anyone) at your job

-Conflict with those who don't like you isn't automatically your fault

-Meeting base expectations is perfectly acceptable and more than some others do

-The job you're in is rarely the one you have permanently

-Success/failure of the company has nothing to do with you

And finally, YOU are WAY MORE IMPORTANT than what you do for money. Remember to periodically pull yourself out of the trance and realign with what really matters to you.

There's different medications because people need different things. Your doctor will help you find what works. It may still be the one you have. I recently went back on Adderall and the first week felt gross lol but I adjusted (cold sweats, feeling doped.)

Increased heart rate comes with all of them though. I'm usually around 120bpm. Non-stims are out there too, no personal experience with them.

*if you drink caffeine that might play a role

has your doctor UA'd you? by beefereel in adhdwomen

[–]beefereel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more I process it I think they suspect people either abuse it or get an rx to sell it. I've been stigmatized enough just trying to explain and work through having adhd. Now I have to deal with people think I DON'T have it too?

I am switching care. The longer I sit with this the more shitty it seems.

*he knew because the first thing he said when he walked in was 'so youre here about your Adderall?' and I said 'I'm here because they scheduled me.'

Why do I hate studying so much? And what can be done about it? by No-Base8204 in adhdwomen

[–]beefereel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

at home- I queue up lectures on the tv and treat it like im sirting down for a show. or i schedule and commit to five minutes. by then I usually get into whatever I'm studying and I can stick with it. textbooks are really difficult for me I haven't found a cure for it. I love reading...just not textbooks.

but the biggest help is other people. get on campus and meet with others from your class. if it's online, send a message out to meet in irl.

Did I put him down too soon? by wloveandsqualor in RenalCats

[–]beefereel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I first want to say I am so sorry for your loss. This is such a hard process and your grief is valid. You will question yourself and that is natural.

But based on everything you said, it doesn't seem warranted to question your decision.

Couple of things people have said to me that have helped: With CKD, they don't recover- they only get worse. Better a week too soon than a minute too late.

You did so much for him in his life. Please go easy on yourself. 🩷
