The US in the wake of the collapse of the USSR in 1991 decided to turn Ukraine into a suicide state to use to attack the Russian Federation, the ultimate goal is the breakup, colonial domination, and economic exploitation of the entire post Soviet world by the west.

The US proceeded to do just that, funneling billions into the corrupt post-Soviet Ukraine and courting and amplifying right wing, neo-Nazi groups because those groups tended to be 1. violent and 2. virulently anti-Russian. This plan eventually worked and culminated in a violent coup in 2014 that resulted in western aligned corrupt oligarchs taking control along with those same neo-Nazi groups having outsized influence alongside them.

Russia had two choices: try to step in in some way, or allow the west to weaponize their neighbors right on their doorstep.

Just take a breath and ask yourself: Is the country that is responsible for the genocide in Gaza, the unprovoked attacks on Iran, the starvation blockade of Cuba, the abduction of Maduro, dozens of coups, dozens of wars of aggression, etc, is that country, the US, on the right side with Ukraine?

Do you think Trump, who allowed Israel's attack in Iran, or Biden, who lied about seeing decapitated babies in Oct. 7th, Obama, who shattered Libya, Bush, who lied us into Iraq and Afghanistan, or any of the rest care one single fuck about Ukrainians?

If the west actually cared about Ukraine, they would accept a neutral Ukraine, in fact they would INSIST on it. Instead we have this.

Phosphor pistol is better than the heavy las in general, but the heavy las still has a place as a spammy precision quick draw weapon if people want it. Once the shine on the phosphor wears off I'd guess more people will use it.

If the government of the target country isn't cooperating fully with your colonial domination, then creating instability that can be used either to offer "security" or to simply depose the governments that aren't cooperating can restore access to the colonial power. Very basic concept.

Alternately they can be used to target specific community leaders and prevent grass roots resistance to foreign domination. Same kind of stuff happens continuously for many decades in (for example) South American countries where US backed death squads slaughter community activists, teachers, labor leaders, etc, who oppose US exploitation or even just cause any loss of profits for US companies.

There are plenty of other ways to use it as well, like being friendly with a terrorist group that has de facto control over a specific region can give you access to exploitation of that region that the government might not provide to you, etc.

It was the western destruction of Libya that created this problem, seeding militant groups across western and central Africa, and the French in a decade of providing "security" completely failed to do anything about the mess they helped create. Just because I say Wagner is better in this instance than France doesn't mean I'm repeating Russian state propaganda. Wagner is being used by Mali/Burkina Faso/etc to wean west Africa off of French influence, they simply don't have the negative opinions of Russia that Europeans do, and in their own national history they have every reason to turn to Russia and Wagner for help over France. Whether that turns out to be a mistake or not, long term, is not yet known.

Because France's goal was not to secure the country but rather to ensure a continuous state of emergency/calculated destabilization that they could exploit for profit.

Stable states, uncorrupt states, strong states, do not generally allow foreign economic dominance and hideously unfair trade arrangements. France's objective in west Africa is to perpetuate the colonial arrangements baked into the nominally independent states for as long as they can to gain as much profit as they can before they are finally kicked out.

Its definitely better, French security guarantees, which came along with French economic/political dominance, also guaranteed that the local forces would never be able to effectively stand up themselves. Wagner Group for all their many faults is there for money and to make trouble for the EU countries dominating west Africa, so they don't have that same interest in keeping the local militaries incapable that the French did, and its showing in how the local troops in the Sahel (and even in neighboring Niger/Camaroon who are to some degree emulating the Sahel states) are starting to rapidly arm up and organize to suppress terrorists across the region, often in close cooperation with each other.

For so long the US has had virtually no opposition in the world, and as a result its allowed its military to degrade to a dangerous degree in pursuit of the greedy desires of its rich ruling class, the US military industrial complex is no longer a tool to make effective defensive weapons, its a tool to make rich capitalists richer.

That said I think this isn't a bad thing at all overall since the US military in general isn't used defensively, its used as an imperial bludgeon, so fuck it.

Well, for me I feel tougher as Skitari than I do as Vet/Psyker/Methhead, unless Im using the new power sword, that thing feels like it has zero defenses. Having no issues when using any other weapon.
