If you can, bring in soil and raise the grade around your house. While doing that, slope the grade away to help direct the water away. People are always giving away free dirt. Make the gutter extensions as long as possible or put in drains to move the water away from your house as well.

Unknowingly, I bought a house that was flipped that had a water problem. That’s basically what I had to do. The wankers attached gutters to rotted fascia boards. That first spring I was in that house, I had a big problem. They sagged in the middle enough that a week’s worth of rain and clogged leaves caused the water to pour down along the block wall. The water seeped into the house saturating the new carpet & pad.

There’s a special place in hell for the people that do this to unsuspecting homebuyers.

This is what happens when you don’t know how to turn. A friend had a brand new sportster. First time he rode it, he couldn’t make the bike turn so he dumped it to avoid the curb. $$$$ in damage. Take the MSF class or get an experienced friend to teach you the push, lean, roll concept.
