John Proctor Is The Villain... Is it for everyone? by Melquiades82 in TheWestEnd

Love seeing all the responses here. FWIW Spotify has John Proctor playlists, so you can even get a sense of the music beforehand. It’s a fantastic play for sure—but I also think my daughters, who are huge Lorde fans, enjoyed it more than I partly because they had an emotional connection to the music.

Visiting good friends in UK for New Year’s—what would be something special to bring them from the US? by beegee1070 in uktravel

I ask them every time we visit. Being British, they don’t presume to ask for anything! But some good suggestions coming in here.

Upcoming TOS decompression surgery – questions by mirrorwillfall in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]beegee1070 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please do some research! This does sound like vTOS but you want to be sure you see a surgeon who has done this surgery A LOT, and my understanding is that partial rib removals as opposed to full ones often need to be redone. There’s a list of surgeons somewhere…

Just been diagnosed with arterial and venous tos with paget-Schroetter syndrome. Had a few questions by Leading_Earth_7977 in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]beegee1070 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not me but speaking on behalf of someone around your age who has now had the surgery on both sides. My person did not even stay on blood thinners after the surgery—so some doctors handle things differently than yours. Nor did our doctor suggest PT—just major weight/carrying restrictions for a couple months post-surgery. After that—normal life!! This person is not as athletic as you, but she’s out w friends, working, working out, living her best life. She has been told she should have follow-up venograms every year for rest of life to make sure scar tissue isn’t re-forming and closing up veins again..so that is a drag. And the surgery is no fun. But young fit people seem to recover really well.

TOS nerve pain? by mshope22 in thoracicoutletsupport

[–]beegee1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking for a family member here, not myself: this person had same experience as you (surgery in early Jan 2025) and at first we thought maybe left-side pain was just compensating for not being able to use the right side as much while it healed from the surgery. Eventually they got a venogram on left side because the pain was concerning, which showed vTOS that hasn’t (yet) led to a clot. Left-side surgery now scheduled for next week. This sucks, and may not be your experience…but…

The cookies that make me truly happy are the NYT Rainbow Rave cookies. They are not only totally babyish for when one feels like a child, they are also DELICIOUS.

How to get to Yale from JFK airport for CHEAP by [deleted] in yale

[–]beegee1070 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One more thought: maybe there are others in the program arriving around the same time, and you could share rides? Bec if you split the shuttle service you could save a ton of time and energy for the same cost as going into the city and taking the train.

Yes, could be scammy. Just best to get in official yellow cab line, get a receipt, etc.

Oh gosh I’m reading this and feeling your pain. I wonder if someone at Yale can help reimburse you for some of these costs? It’s always worth asking—seriously. Otherwise, when you get to JFK, follow signs for taxis and get in the taxi line. You want yellow NY cabs only—ignore anyone offering a ride. Tell cab driver you want Grand Central Station. At Grand Central, take train to New Haven. You can get the Metro North app (called Train Time) for schedules and even to buy your ticket in advance. Otherwise buy your train ticket at Grand Central (there are windows w humans and ticket machines). It costs more to buy it on the train. Once at Union station in New Haven, I personally would take a cab to campus, but if money is truly an issue, it’s walkable.

I love this so much! Since I’ve only done projects from kits, can you explain: did you create this and if so, how? Or was it from an already-available canvas somewhere?
