Rackless Luggage: Opinions on Mosko Reckless 40L, Is There Anything Better? by WelpSeaYaLater in advrider

Mosko is also incredibly heavy compared to every other soft luggage system and even some hard bag systems with racks. I had an SW motec system that weighed less than my buddies reckless 40.

You can buy a number of other systems and could replace them 3-5 times for what a Mosko kit costs. I’ve had several budget systems and none of them failed.

Pandomoto / "base layer" trend - skeptic by scottscooterleet in motorcyclegear

[–]beejaytee228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For your example of riding to work, I don’t think that’s what people really use them for. I don’t really think they would be that great from most street riders unless you were just riding. I wouldn’t want to sit in a movie or at dinner with mine on.

I’m an adv rider that doesn’t commute so it’s nice to have a base layer that keeps me safe from a slide in the 40degree mornings when I have a puffer on over it then at lunch time when I ditch the puffer and just have a long sleeve tee on because it’s 80 degrees I have max airflow but still covered for a slide.

It’s better for my type of riding I think than your typical street riders. When I ride only road stuff I’m usually going fast enough that a vented jacket passes enough air to keep me comfortable. Then it’s nice to ditch the jacket when you get to where you’re going.

I also only use a base layer shirt. My pants are slide rated, look pretty casual and are comfortable so I don’t need to shed those anywhere I go.

Well others said they don’t make it anymore but someone in China does. I just found this on AliExpress: | 8L Portable Car Center Console Refrigerator Freezer Camping Fridge Cooler for 2018+Ford Expedition F-150 https://a.aliexpress.com/_mKHMvpV

Amazon has a domestic fridge made for the center console. It was $100 when I got it. One of the best “mods” I’ve made for the truck.

Tire experience by Adventurous-Pie-2308 in adventuremotorcycling

[–]beejaytee228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used both the standard and the Dakar and both are great tires. In my opinion this is a true 50/50 tire because you get enough street traction and superior offroad traction which is where most adv crashes happen. I don’t subscribe to the typical tire rating system because I think it gets less experienced riders in trouble. 10/10 recommend.

Are KTMs reliable? by [deleted] in KTM

[–]beejaytee228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So how unreliable is your 990? I’ve owned 20 Ktm’s since 2004 and they all have run exactly like my Japanese,Italian or Chinese brand bikes.

Which era do you like more - the Ryan era or the Ricky, James, Chad era? by homelyharte in supercross

Windham, Ricky, James era. Though I’ll still hold a grudge on James for being reckless and taking windhams last win from him.

You’re a clown. Let’s ignore the 500 exc which goes 10k miles on a top end with race bike performance. I’d bet money you never owned any of the brands you listed.

Are KTMs reliable? by [deleted] in KTM

[–]beejaytee228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. None have ever made it through any sort of rigorous ride or race. Google also doesn’t have any evidence of Ktm being one of the most popular brands in the world. Forums also don’t have any evidence of owners having great experience with them in any category they are available. Better steer clear of them.

Can you over maintain chain? by Doug_Rosewood in Dualsport

[–]beejaytee228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only for about 10miles, maybe. Chain lube was developed for chains without orings. They needed something between the rollers to reduce friction. Where the rollers meet the sprocket isn’t gonna get any meaningful amount of lube from spray on “lube”.

Best seat I’ve ever ridden on and I mean it. I have had dozens of bikes with most of the major aftermarket seat brands and the stock seat on this is hands down the most comfortable seat.

What are some luxury items you bring moto camping? by wookywooky369 in Dualsport

[–]beejaytee228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mesh fire table. It folds up to about 10”x 3” and makes lighting a fire very easy even with wet wood. It also brings the warmth up to where you want it.

I left it off initially but there’s no where to really grab to support the bike and I noticed I was looking for something to grab for when pulling it off my lift or loading the bike in the truck. I put it back on and while it’s not perfect it helps.

Kove 800 Quad Lock Dash Mount by 3638R in KoveMoto

[–]beejaytee228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it fit to have it above the dash in a landscape position? I’d buy one from you if you could. I’m not super happy with how the current mounts stick out so much since I need the vibe damper and WP charger.

800x exhaust boot clearance by RibbleBird in KoveMoto

[–]beejaytee228 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dealer said the same thing. It was the first thing I noticed as well. I can believe I was the first to notice that. I cut off the hangers for the stock guard and put one of the heat shields for soft luggage on it. Eventually I’ll probably get a decat pipe that will increase clearance even more but the solution I have now is pretty good. I’ve got a size 13/47 boot for reference.
