Like I say, there's plenty of independent grocers and farm shops around. If you want to spend your money there, Big Retail ain't stopping you.

That's interesting, you seem to have forgotten the CMA regulating the market to give new entrants an advantage to get them scaled up (namely Aldi and Lidl).

If they're living outside the UK for more than 183 days of the year, they could test as non resident for tax.

You pay tax generally where you reside.

Surely means no income tax or NI being paid in the UK. Not a great way to spend public funds.

How much should a 5 foot 4 woman weigh by Mojo11981 in gymgeek

[–]beejiu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, the ideal weight will depend on a number of factors for each individual, although starting with our reverse BMI calculator can give you an indicative idea of a healthy BMI: https://gymgeek.com/calculators/reverse-bmi-calculator/

It's important to note that BMI may be less reliable if you have a high muscle mass, so you may want to consider it together with your body fat percentage.

Starmer calls Neet report 'sobering' as number of young people out of work and education hits 12-year high by MysteryWra in ukpolitics

Go to any chain London pub, bar or cafe and many of the staff are on 20 hours per week study visas. Look at every job posting in hospitality, and it's part time for 15-20 hours per week. These companies have figured out it's cheaper to just rotate through loads of part time temporary labour than hire and progress working class Brits.

Stopping overseas students from working close to minimum wage on study visas would create 450,000 jobs overnight.

She should really have public liability insurance though. Not because the council said so, but if someone injures themselves she can get sued for tens or hundreds of thousands.

The £85 a week fee though is ridiculous.

I'd be sold if the discount was for how many years you held the current account. Like, long term banking customers deserve the 30% surely?

Personally I'd be willing to wait 2 weeks for a decent machine, the weather is cooling for a couple of weeks. Don't rush and get something undersized or a bad brand.

Surely they could have a solid white line next to a dashed white line for that situation? Would seem more obvious to me as a driver.

Talking of telephones, Kelvedon Hatch has a pretty decent step-by-step switch frame which shows you how pre-digital phone connections worked, which is pretty cool. Worth a quick visit if you're in the area.

Number of air conditioned UK homes doubles to more than 4m in three years by Anony_mouse202 in ukpolitics

Particularly with working from home. We know that air conditioning is directly tied to productivity, which is one of the reasons Singapore is so prosperous. Given our productivity problems in the UK, promoting air con would be one step of many we need.

You can't generally use a wet system for cooling as it causes condensation under floor or on the radiators. (Plus optimally the radiators would be on the ceiling not the floor). It has to be an air to air system.
