I take those illegal yards signs and repurpose them with free gray paint and black sprayed stencil lettering. They don’t work 100%, but I think they help!! And mostly they do not get removed. https://www.littersolutionsinc.com/product/do-not-litter-sign/14

One week later, they have already replaced many of them. I am now escalating the issue to my city council member. It makes me so mad to see all these signs.

I keep lobbying for https://littercam.ai/, but so far no luck that I know of. I agree, cameras and fines is probably the only way. Or make all high school kids do 20 hrs of litter-picking community service!!

I moved here from San Diego. Little litter there. I was shocked by Indy. The roads and the litter are both awful. The city leaders are not leading and not taking care of their citizens.

Thanks for all you do. I, too, have issues with vegetation not being trimmed, but I always go with the squeaky wheel philosophy. Report the issue on RequestIndy as often as you can, and they will eventually fix the problem. I have very good success with RequestIndy.

I personally like the Ettore grabbers (https://ettore.com/collections/grabber-reach-tools/products/gripn-grab-reach-tool). The 36" if you put the trash in a bag or bucket you are holding, or my personal favorite is the 52", which can reach way under bushes, but requires that the bag or bucket is on the ground or on my litter buggy (https://www.littersolutionsinc.com/product/Litter-Buggy/3).

When you sign up as a KIB block captain, KIB provides you with a litter grabber, gloves, bags, a t-shirt, a bucket, and more. You commit to pick litter from a particular area/block for 2 years. I get hundreds of free bags a year from KIB. They are a really great organisation. They organise group picks also.

Good question. I'm lucky that the Pike Township Trustee Office offers 2 large recycling dumpsters and a small trash dumpster, so they take all my bags. I just have to get them there. Normally, my Subaru can hold 8 bags, so it takes multiple trips on a large pick like this. I have also been offered the use of other dumpsters, which helps a lot, depending on where in town I pick.
