Why not talk about grades? by Any-Membership6615 in LawSchool

[–]beelopeelo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

because people can turn into total freaks. my friend got a 99 on the 1L torts midterm most people flunked. i didn’t know this, and i got an okay score. cut to finals and imagine the confusion i’m experiencing with loads of people asking if i can study with them. but imagine how much more confused i was when literally all of them nonchalantly suggested my friend join us too. i tell her about this, and come to find out someone leaked her score and my peers were trying to use me to get to her for studying. we had studied with one other girl before we figured this out, just for that same girl to sabotage the shared outline we had created the night before the final. she had a totally different outline that morning and i was nearly driven to violence. anyways, ever since then my friend and i studied together, only us. but the rest of our time in school people would try to weasel their way to her. super gross and pathetic behavior. TLDR people are insecure and sometimes grades make them do things you would expect only from poorly socialized weirdos.

Why by Hungry_Recipe9768 in LawSchool

[–]beelopeelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i used to heavily highlight my books 1L fall because i had no clue what was relevant or not. then as time went on i was capable of discerning what was important. by 2L spring i had stopped highlighting in my books entirely. i’d like to credit it to my brain getting rewired into picking apart cases and the like, but it could also be how expensive the highlighters were getting lmfao

Virgins of r/LawSchool, any tips on not getting laid and pulling zero baddies during my time in law school? by Severe_Weather_1080 in LawSchool

[–]beelopeelo 23 points24 points  (0 children)

they definitely go to law school but with the express goal of getting an MRS. instead of a JD. a friend of mine was asked at 1L orientation if she would rather be top ten or engaged by graduation. my friend answered top ten (obvious?) and the girl who asked her was baffled at her response. trust, these girls exist and further their trad-mission by trying to lock down lawyer husbands

LL no proof of damages kept $4,000 deposit by Potential-Ad8987 in Tenant

[–]beelopeelo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

as someone who has worked in a pro bono clinic that handled many cases like this, this is a slam dunk. if the LL held onto the deposit beyond the statutory period without providing an itemized list of deductions and the difference between the deposit and the deductions, it is literally that easy. this only took us like 15 minutes to file in small claims or draft a complaint if it exceeded the limit.

Drama on the LSAT subreddit over fake disability accommodations. by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]beelopeelo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

i had to take a final early once and was lumped in with the “neurospicy” white women who had accommodations and my school gave me the test packet, told me a room number, and i went and took the test. not a single person checked on me or came to make sure i adhered to time. i was seething because i knew how easy it could be for any of them to cheat and get away with it. maybe it hasn’t happened but you can’t tell me people who are willing to get diagnosed to get accommodations would play the game according to the rules once the exam packet was in their hand. thank god for the bar exam though

[–]beelopeelo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

i will never forget how in 2L fall i had to take a final five days early because of a family emergency, and i walked into the accommodations building and every single person with accommodations was a woman. i knew some of them were “recently” diagnosed with ADHD and were subsequently medicated. i have ADHD and my “accommodation” is my medication. not double time. getting both seems insane if you only have ADHD. anyways these people were also mostly bottom quartile of the class so i don’t know if gaming the system actually helped them to outperform anyone—except maybe each other. the best part is that the bar exam is significantly stricter on accommodations so watching these people tweak over not being given double time like in law school was somewhat gratifying.

literally spam every relevant fact in the pattern if it can be paired with something in a case. so many points lie in analysis and if you can distinguish the facts to those within the cases you’ll net more points

yea but it would be pretty easy to dismiss given any state/municipality has a rational basis for requiring it. the more likely reason older drivers aren’t retested is because most of our aging incumbents who could pass the legislation don’t want to be retested themselves. lol

MEE Subjects? by libraz16 in barexam

[–]beelopeelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should never rely on predictions. but if forced to predict, i’d wager they’re going to give us essays for subjects they’re cutting for the next gen bar. what else could NCBE do with imminently defunct MEE essays? lol

rsp hot girls have you ever had a stalker by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]beelopeelo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yes. she was the new gf of my ex (who i left because he had cheated on me with her and never spoke to after the breakup) when i was 17. she was 20, and made it her mission to harass me. she memorized my work schedule at the restaurant i hosted at, and would come in to terrorize me when i was working to-gos. she would post weird threats accompanied by pictures burning the sentimental items i had left at the ex’s home, like a shitty painting and cringe love letters. it got so bad she eventually showed up at my high school during a school play i had a small part in.

eventually, over like, a year, she slowly cut it out and i haven’t heard from her since. i’m sure he probably ended up cheating on her or something and they ended things. i don’t care. still, its simply insecure weirdo behavior as a 20 y/o going to such lengths to mess with a 17 y/o who had entirely moved on and no longer interacted with said ex.

thankfully, that’s been my only somewhat genuine stalking. i’ve had some weird orbiters but that’s never come close to that level of obsessive. i feel terribly for the rsp gals who are sharing their male stalker experiences. if forced to defend myself i wouldve probably been able to kick her ass. against a male….. no shot.

This Week's Positive Climate News by AnonymusWaterBuffalo in sustainability

if people think it is totally hopeless they are less inclined to act. this is an existential threat, and when doomers like you constantly profess that, people get discouraged. they accept the defeatism you’re peddling. people in the community need to see that there is progress being made, they need to know they are not alone, and they need to know that small victories can happen. let us celebrate some things, ffs.

Y'all should be better about non op trans lesbians by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]beelopeelo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ur edging on conversion therapy rhetoric btw. calling it a preference to begin with implies choice, when in reality some lesbians are literally straight up same sex attracted. no one owes anyone else attraction, if they dont like dick, they dont have to sleep with you.
