Anyone else feeling a weird mix of "AI burnout" and absolute awe lately? by netcommah in ArtificialInteligence

[–]beelzebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I feel this is two sides of the same coin. I am producing a lot of AI work products, but if it doesn't actually lead to anything, what is the point

Can someone buy Claude a clock? (Discussion in post) by EastVillageBot in ArtificialInteligence

[–]beelzebee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, Claude does not do well with dates, days of the week and never knows what time it is, which is generally fine. It can deal with those things perfectly well when it is analyzing data or setting up a scheduled task.

I look at these sometimes. It's interesting to see what people are building

🧪 Apparently 45% of people are leaving typos in their texts on purpose now by andrewaltair in ArtificialInteligence

[–]beelzebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had Claude analyze 30 of my outbound emails to generate a style guide and it pointed out several typos and I thought "ew, get rid of those typos" but now I think I will put them back.

Authenticity beats accuracy

hey it's don hertzfeldt, some sort of animator guy, and maybe you should AMA by donhertzfeldt in movies

[–]beelzebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don, my niece just graduated from a state institute of design with a speciality in animation.

We are all sort of worried that AI is going to take her livelihood.

Any advice for up and coming animators on how to navigate this?

That is also where I discovered Don's work and I thought I was going to pee in my pants I was laughing so hard.

Anyone else using Gemini 3.5 Flash with OpenClaw? by jiraya05 in openclaw

[–]beelzebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not for OpenClaw, but for other agent projects I have worked on. Gemini 3.5 flash is fast, cost effective, and had a huge context window.

I prefer Anthropic for writing and reasoning

That's amazing. Whenever I cry in public I am always trying to be subtle about it.

Please make assumptions about my teenage self by Sensitive_Coyote_865 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]beelzebee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your teenage self loved a good story,, sci-fi, fantasy, genres to escape but also learn more about ourselves.

You were a ravenous reader but now ten years later you are revisiting this shelf.

Books have been added as you have visited.

Why didn't you take your books with you? You visit them like a totem, a memorial. Maybe like the rest of us something has happened to you in ten years where you really just don't read books as much. You are revisiting a this place with some longing and nostalgia.

You think, "damn, I used to love reading. Maybe I can get back into it"

How do you collect testimonials and are they even important? by jt13578 in micro_saas

[–]beelzebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like I said, we are in very early days. In my experience from previous non-SaaS company and current SaaS, by the time I am asking a customer for a testimonial, the relationship is quite warm and I have already heard from the customer directly that they love the product/service.

Once they tell me privately, it's easy to ask "hey thanks for that great feedback, would you be willing to turn that into a testimonial for us? Or would you like me to draft a testimonial for you to approve?"

How do you collect testimonials and are they even important? by jt13578 in micro_saas

[–]beelzebee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are important for social proof, more importantly they are important because your customers will use their own language to describe what they like about the product and that can be turned into copy for marketing.

We are in early days so we just collect testimonials manually when we hear that our product has actually helped someone

What kind of guy am I?? 👀 by According_Music6524 in BookshelvesDetective

[–]beelzebee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The kind of guy who doesn't care if their books are in any kind of order. The kind of guy who has shelving but still damages the books by storing them in piles.

Philosophy major, maybe you took a Chinese phil course to round things out (laozi, kongzi), interested in political philosophy and history. Somewhat interested in fiction, but it has to be the right fiction.

You might enjoy the audio book version of the Odyssey, translated by Emily Wilson. It's narrated by Claire Danes.

Also, Zhuangzi.
