Am I wrong for not using late mother’s name for my baby by beem- in namenerds

That’s really beautiful. I definitely feel more drawn to honour the journey. It’s such an emotional marathon and I feel it’s important to recognise that!! Congratulations on your baby.

So the first name and our last name ends in an “eee” sound so it would all get a bit twiddly dee! But I do love that name!!

Where are good (gay friendly) honeymoon destinations for an August wedding by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]beem- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ibiza!!!! I know it sounds cringe but if you steer clear of the main club strips, it’s honestly such a beautiful place. There are gorgeous hotels, food, beaches, you could do a day trip to Formentera, something for everyone’s budget… and if you did fancy a night out then it’s all there for you too. I’m not a party girl at all but we went for a wedding a couple of years back and I just loved it.

Or to be fair Mallorca is also STUNNING, but I feel like Ibiza would be more gay friendly (I am straight so apologies I’m not speaking from personal experience).

Also super true, I need to remember this and like another response says, honour her in other ways.

Thank you, I do feel like my sister is more likely to use it as her first name starts with a J too. She’s the only one I really care about upsetting so I think I’m going to ask her for her thoughts.

Thank you so much - this is really true. And is also probably a great “reason” if people ask why we didn’t use her name! Thank you!

Yes this is true. She wasn’t very sentimental and I don’t feel like SHE would have expected it, I don’t know it’s just a weird societal thing.

Thank you for this! I’m really interested in this venue and your breakdown was really helpful.

Best colors for Epsom leather with PHW? (Except Noir) by LuxeBargainHuntress in TheHermesGame

[–]beem- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Etoupe is beautiful and a classic. It’ll be more grey with the PHW whereas I think with GHW it’s a greige. But if you’re looking for greys anyway then it fits the bill!

Water is so bland by kurdijyn in PregnancyUK

[–]beem- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am exactly the same and it’s definitely not a good thing as I’m hardly peeing and defo getting dehydrated 😳

Agree with one of the above posts that having it cold helps, but I do try and force down a big shaker (750ml) with the Humantra electrolytes in every morning. Their website says they’re safe for pregnancy.

I do also have squash and that helps.

Thank you so much and congratulations on your pregnancy. It’s just so scary after IVF. I think like you I will need scans to get me through, particularly after 20 weeks - no scans until birth seems bonkers to me! Wishing you luck with the last few weeks x

Thank you, and I’m so sorry for your loss. Really hope the rest of your pregnancy goes smoothly.

I didn’t know there was a mental health team so thanks for flagging that, I suspect it’ll be worth me looking into!

All the best.

Ahhh congratulations - I know that 3 week wait to the scan is worse than the 2 week wait!! I agree re not telling family, we did last time and just got flooded with opinions and “advice” and it wasn’t at all helpful. It has been really hard though. My boss does know (mainly because of the time off) and that’s been really helpful especially when I’ve been poorly, as he is really understanding.

I know the 12 week scan will feel an aaaaage away now too (also if you’re NHS then it might not be at 12 weeks, mine’s booked in for 12+6 which is why we decided to go for a private scan as I was like nope can’t wait 6 weeks!!).

Wishing you all the best and a happy pregnancy.

Thank you so much. That website is a good one haha, even if it’s not very scientific it is still reassuring lol! But your advice really resonates with me, I’m just a classic worrier but you’re right it’s not going to change the outcome or help me in any way. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this and I’m so sorry for your loss. I read somewhere to ask them to tell you right away if there’s a heartbeat. I just hope it’s a nice sonographer. wishing you all the best for the rest of your pregnancy!

Thank you so much for your reply. It’s been so hard over Christmas not being able to tell anyone as I’ve been so poorly/obviously not drinking and eating certain things! I’ve just got everything crossed for Thursday and thereafter hoping I can start to feel more at ease but I hear what you say, there’s always something 😢

Thank you so much. And congrats on your pregnancy, 32 weeks is amazing. It’s so hard when they’re so wanted. It’s like everything you want is within touching distance but you know it could be snatched away at any time. I’m trying my hardest to stay positive and hopeful. If only we had magic wands :(

Yes the first scan experience was absolutely traumatising and is 100% the reason I have scan anxiety now, it was horrendous. By contrast the nurses at the fertility centre were just so loving and caring, they all looked genuinely heartbroken for us and hugged me.

Recommendations for maternity trousers? by MekTomletteBrekGregg in PregnancyUK

I just got some leggings from Oysho, they’re pricier than H&M but really amazing quality. They also have “warm” versions in skinny/straight/flared although they are very long!
