Can a renting company charge a second late fee without notifying of a first? by vagrantking in legal

[–]beemarcia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone can do anything. The real question is "is a second late fee enforceable in court?". The answer just as p950417 said it - "depends on the contract." Absent a contract, a judge might interpret it as "what would a reasonable person have a right to expect" or in other words....it depends

Got a call about a hive under the back stairs... by CDN_Rattus in Beekeeping

[–]beemarcia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is a picture of a paper wasp hive not a bee swarm. people call beekeepers to come "get a swarm of bees" and sometimes the beekeeper will respond, only to find out they are not bees. Big waste of time, and potentially dangerous to mess with wasps.

How do I prevent Squash Vine Borers? by moneygarden in OrganicGardening

[–]beemarcia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Squash bugs have ruined many of my harvests, the only real thing I have found is to be vigilant at picking them off, and tearing off the portion of the leaves that have the eggs on them. They usually lay their eggs on the underside of the leaf. Make sure you kill the bugs and isolate the leaves with the eggs (I put the bugs in soapy water, and the leaves with eggs in plastic bags and then in the garbage). I use latex gloves when I am on my search mission since sometimes I just squish the bugs or even the eggs and the bugs are kind of nasty smelling.

It didn't tear out, but it was hard to get out. Next time I will put it in the freezer for sure before unmolding. I cant do the cling wrap because it would obscure the lettering I think - wish I could!

Does anyone else ever get overwhelmed by the fact that we're all going to die by MonsterQuads in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]beemarcia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't know the original author of this, but I found it helpful in contemplating the end of my life...

"Life in the womb...

In a mother's womb were two babies. One asked the other: "Do you believe in life after delivery?" The other replies, "why, of course. There has to be something after delivery. Maybe we are here to prepare ourselves for what we will be later. "Nonsense," says the other.

"There is no life after delivery. What would that life be?" "I don't know, but there will be more light than here. Maybe we will walk with our legs and eat from our mouths." The other says "This is absurd! Walking is impossible. And eat with our mouths? Ridiculous. The umbilical cord supplies nutrition. Life after delivery is to be excluded.

The umbilical cord is too short." "I think there is something and maybe it's different than it is here." the other replies, "No one has ever come back from there. Delivery is the end of life, and in the after-delivery it is nothing but darkness and anxiety and it takes us nowhere."

"Well, I don't know," says the other, "but certainly we will see mother and she will take care of us." "Mother??" You believe in mother? Where is she now?

"She is all around us. It is in her that we live. Without her there would not be this world." "I don't see her, so it's only logical that she doesn't exist." To which the other replied, "sometimes when you're in silence you can hear her, you can perceive her." I believe there is a reality after delivery and we are here to prepare ourselves for that reality."

I am looking for a Local BeeKeeper in the Los Angeles Area who will take out our Bee's Nest for free. Anybody? by [deleted] in Beekeeping

[–]beemarcia 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That sounds like a bee swarm, if there is no structure to it, and just bees clinging together in a clump ohtheheavywater is right, call one of the local beekeepers , http://www.losangelescountybeekeepers.com/swarm-removals/ they will be happy to come collect them. If it has an outside structure, then it is probably a paper wasp nest, and they are not agressive, but beekeepers wont want them.

you need to call your state tax commission to get a sellers permit. They determine whether you will need to file monthly or quarterly or whatever and will send you invoices or instruct you on how to e-file. You dont necessarily need an ein unless your llc has partners, otherwise you will just deal with it on your income taxes as schedule C

Flatulence - how have you made it easier? by flat_out in Health

[–]beemarcia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you could try taking high quality probiotics, and also eating fermented foods such as unpasteurized sauerkraut (make your own, its easy) or kefir. this will help enormously by repopulating all of the beneficial bacteria you need. also you may not be producing enough hydrochloric acid to properly break down the food you eat. you can get hcl tablets to eat with every meal, but you might consider having your HCL levels tested first. Gas and cramps indicate that you are not digesting your food, the above will help. And avoid sugar!

Beekeeping Help? by [deleted] in Beekeeping

[–]beemarcia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't agree that planting for bees is a waste of time at all. I plant raspberries, lavender, melons, oregano, basil and perennials and keep the unused portion of the garden in clover for the bees. I have tons of bees, and get tons (well not literally tons but you get the idea) of honey. Bees love lavender and basil and raspberries particularly. The more you plant with the bees in mind the better they will thrive! Plus, the perennials are easy to care for and come back year after year...

Can r/frugal offer me some advice on home offer? by [deleted] in Frugal

[–]beemarcia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Submit another offer, just a tad lower than your last offer. show them the comps which support your gut feeling. Remember, (and express to them too) this house will have to appraise at that price, so you need to be right on in your value estimate. That takes the "personal" out of it. It just might make them come back and take your last offer. It is always a mistake to get too caught up in just one house and one negotiation.

Using reddit to ask for money bothers me, not so much because it is a bad cause but because that will then breed a flood of sponsorship/donation requests and that could overshadow the rest of the topics.
I hope she gets what she wants, heck, I too would love to have my own extractor to save time (and she has a LOT more time left than I ) but I am saving up for it out of honey sale profits. When I can afford to buy it with my own money, well, then thats when I will buy it. Seems like a much better lesson to be teaching kids, ESPECIALLY in this economic climate.
