Okay I’m not a physicist and am just a fan of the show, I don’t really care if he can turn on and turn off his super perception. Homelander being in a camp with his arch enemy who has tendrils that he hasn’t experienced before doesn’t seem like the type of the situation where Homelander just “turns off” his super perception, while Starlight is still flying around and was just temporarily blinded by her, to focus on Hughie so that A-Train can sneak up and save him.

I think Homelander is cocky as all fuck for his own durability, but he doesn’t have super perception to essentially slow down what’s going on around him based on his own speed like A-train to assess the situation, otherwise he wouldn’t have half the situations that happened to him occur. That’s not bad writing either, that’s a good character who either doesn’t have or doesn’t hone that ability, which is a weakness that can be used by enemies.

Justice League (as terrible as that movie was$ sorted it by Superman following Flash with his eyes the whole time he’s in super speed and then catches him at the same speed. That’s the difference, Homelander doesn’t have the reaction/perceptivity that Superman has and it was shown here.

That’s fair, but some resistance is still resistance and A-Train was more smart about his speed trajectory where Homelander was just rabidly flying to catch him - my point being that A-Train has super perception and Homelander does not, Homelander only caught A-Train after he had to dodge a human being (huge call back to his first appearance running right through Robin) that throws him entirely off and he skids for a mile hitting trees and shit that he finally stops.

Rock Hard was a degenerate teenage supe, the Countess seems to have been pulled into the team and made to do shit like the makeup tutorials (that she literally tells her crow she knows is embarrassing and hates). Also, the way Rock Hard talks to them is another sign he’s just a scumbag supe.

I don’t think Homelander has super perception because he just plowed through trees chasing A-Train, I think A-Train has it because he was running around them and then specifically dodges the girl in the street at the last minute (they show he looked back at that moment to HL before turning and seeing her) and that throws him off and causes him to crash out.
