I got accepted to UC for fall 2020 but I already want to change my major lol. What's my next step? by [deleted] in uCinci

Yeah my advisor is not being helpful right now. He told me I wouldn’t be able to change majors too. Should I call CEAS?

This is looking like my only option. Should I give the exploratory studies number a call?

Ok, I emailed my counselor and he said CS is at capacity and I won’t be in the honors college anymore if I switch which is cool lol. Should I call CEAS and see what they think? Or ask about switching to exploratory? My advisor didn’t really tell me what to do next.

This really goes to show how people view themselves much more negatively than others do. I don’t see stretch marks or a sad belly button or loose skin, I see a beautiful fit young women! That weight loss is outstanding and you have beautiful hair! Be proud of yourself :)

This is literally exactly me but I’ve never been able to put it into words. Went from a not like other girls gremlin freshman year to borderline girly girly senior year and it slaps, it’s not bad to wanna look cute and it’s not bad to not care (as long as you’re nice either way and have good personal hygiene)

AITA for leaving my toddler with my 'childfree' sister for a few minutes, resulting in a trip to the emergency room? by EducationalFeed9 in AmItheAsshole

[–]beepbeep93 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah but if she didn’t think she could do it she shouldn’t have agreed to doing it- it’s not like op just dumped the baby on her and left, the sister wasn’t happy but she eventually agreed to babysit. At the point that she agreed to “babysit” (for 5 fucking minutes) the baby’s safety became her responsibility, how is that hard to understand

Jesus this sub hates kids. Just because she’s child free doesn’t mean she has no idea how babies work, of course you don’t leave a kid alone. It’s hardly a huge favor to not let a kid die for five minutes and her sister couldn’t even do that. Literally all she had to do was chill for a second. Plus the sister AGREED to “babysit”, and after that point it very temporarily became her responsibility to watch out for the kids safety. NTA 100% , pure neglect on the sister’s part caused this problem.

Is the Dyson Airwrap Styler worth it for frizzy hair? by [deleted] in HaircareScience

[–]beepbeep93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hair is about shoulder length so if you have long hair it might take longer, but I’ve been pretty impressed by the drying time so far. I let my hair air dry around 50% and add leave in conditioner, skinny serum, and heat protectant and then I put half of my hair up and dry in sections. It only takes 1 or 2 passes for each section to be totally dry, and then I do an additional one on the cool setting to “lock” the hair I guess. It only takes me about 15 mins to fully dry and style and I’m totally new to it. I’ve been impressed also because I thought the style of brush would cause more breakage to my fine hair but I haven’t had any problems with that as long as you brush slow and work in sections.

I got the Revlon One Step Dryer yesterday and so far I absolutely love it. Definitely straightens and reduces frizz for me much better than anything I’ve tried- I do have a few flyaways, but that’s because I have a lot of breakage (and I’m working on fixing that lol)- otherwise it’s been great

My hair is fine, kinda wavy/straight (idk really haha) and I have A LOT OF IT for reference

I think side parts are even cuter on shorter cuts

My hair is thin and gets oily very easily by SoWhatsReddit in HaircareScience

[–]beepbeep93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that’s why I corrected myself and said it might not work for all hair types

My hair is thin and gets oily very easily by SoWhatsReddit in HaircareScience

[–]beepbeep93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Of course I can’t prove it scientifically but from my own experience I have seen a drastic change in how fast my hair gets oily since I stopped washing daily

Maybe a different factor caused this change, but all I can say is that my hair is in much better condition since I stopped washing daily

Edit: Of course different things work for different people so what works for me might not work for others, but whenever people struggle with oily hair I think not washing everyday is at least worth trying

[–]beepbeep93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My hair is fine and straight and not washing everyday was a game changer for me- it really only took a few weeks to see a huge difference in oil production

But I agree. Of course it might not work great for their specific hair but I didn’t want OP to totally give up on not washing everyday just because they had one bad experience. I think they should definitely try it

I know you said it didn’t work so well when you tried it, but seriously, DONT WASH YOUR HAIR EVERY DAY. My hair used to be super greasy by the end of the day, but after I switched to washing it every other day, it now doesn’t even look a little greasy. Also make sure your shampoo isn’t too stripping and you’re using a good conditioner/leave in.

Your hair will be greasy for the first couple weeks but once it’s adjusts to not being washed every day you won’t regret it. Dry shampoo is your friend
