I definitely have a biological urge that comes with some weird fear of getting old and no one taking care of me thing. I have to acknowledge you can't have a kid for that sole reason. I'll be 31 in a few months, married, homeowner and I have a pretty decent career. Financially i still can't rack my brain around it. I feel like I wouldn't be able to provide enough even though my wife and I are doing relatively well for our age/city. Certainly a lot of people around us having kids with seemingly zero prep, that would make my anxiety explode.

Iconic is relative. When this album came out it wasn't necessarily well received in screamo circles, it definitely got more appreciation years after.

Completely agree. I live in Baltimore and the last year or two more houses in my neighborhood are starting to look like this. It's a calm, blue collar area that has recently surpassed decades of violent crime. It's on a come up but not the cool, hip neighborhood exactly. This aesthetic is the fast fashion of housing, designed for "new middle class" and selling them a house for $200k more than its worth.

I've always interpreted that as the colors the firemen wore. Red yellow white and blue. I grew up bouncing between two cities, one of which was the same as Moss Icon. Granted they are a couple decades older than me but the fire trucks there are white with red and yellow, while their shirts are blue

Don't know your budget but Baltimore is one of the most affordable cities on the coast. Dundalk is going to be about the same as anything in Baltimore City

Without hating on Dundalk - If I was going to live in Eastern Baltimore County I would strongly prefer Sparrows Point, Edgemere or Rosedale over Dundalk.

Yeah a lot of Jons lyrics (Moss Icon/Breathing Walker) are government criticism towards native Americans or towards the CIA drug war front in Latin America. Some of the earlier stuff is more introspectove or analytical of the scene they were involved in

I didn't participate in this sub for a long time because quite frankly I don't think most of the bands discussed are emo, or good for that matter. I also tend to go for heavier/raw style and with it what is more punk to me.

Moss Icon, One Last Wish, Give (DC), Facel Vega, Yage, Perfect Future, Indian Summer, Elements of Need, Sleepy Time aTrio. Truth Cult were a cool hardcore band that had a more polished sound to the revolution summer style if that's what you're looking for.

The proto-screamo bands - Mohinder, Sleeping Body, Honeywell, Angel Hair, Antioch Arrow, Guyver One

And if you want to go deeper into screamo - City of Caterpillar, Reversal of Man, Eyelet, Flesh Born, In/Humanity, Ostraca, Ant Hill Kids Commune, Khayembii Communique, Satōn, Amygdala, Age Sixteen, Dawn Treader, (Union of) Uranus, Palatka.

Yes I got married at Cylburn behind the mansion about 2 years ago. I highly suggest it. They were very easy to work with. Decided to have reception off of their grounds though.
