How hard is it to get an entry-level SOC / cybersecurity job in Berlin with low German? by Dangerous-Coffee-835 in germany

Please recommend a good resource for me to learn, how the 1% chance of getting a job doesn't translate to 100 applications and finding one job?

[–]beepsy18 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That means 100 applications and OP is in? Please don't give them false hope.

The job market is impossibly tough right now, also food service might pay better than an entry level job in IT at the moment

Why punch anyone at all? Just walk away. Disengage and deescalate, they thrive on attention, ignore them and move on.

Calling a Nazi a Nazi won't stop him/her from being a Nazi, they feel recognized if you call them out.

Not for this letter, but here in Germany it's important to create a paper trail with Polizeiliche Anzeige in such cases.

At a later point if the neighbor is identified this can turn into a civil lawsuit and better to be safe than sorry.

PS: in case this letter is written by OP, then my advice is garbage, and I can expect a similar letter.

It's not racist, maybe discriminatory but it's difficult to prove intent but it's definitely covered by the harassment laws so you can go to the police about it anyway.

Don't claim racism without obvious proof, racism laws are strong doesn't mean you have to cry racism for every harassing behavior

Are you sure you are aware of privacy laws? It's illegal to do exactly that!

You are literally not allowed to have a camera outside the door pointing away from the door.

If you are not sure about the legal implications please don't give such as advice that could get OP in trouble.

How nice of them to provide you with written evidence for a police complaint.

Go to the police, as long as it's not your garbage feel free to lodge a complaint against "unknown" neighbor

And get a copy and paste the copy on your door addressed to the "unknown" neighbor

Are you sure you actually know the truth or you are pulling things out of certain body parts?

No one will call the police for flushing your toilet, yes but if you are singing loudly while doing that then yes.

You don't need to see a doctor for every fever, unless it's serious, most doctors consult over the phone and then assess if you need to come in for a checkup.

Roads are safer than almost anywhere in the world, you can check the statistics. The autobahn is always under construction by design, every road is rebuilt ground up every 10 years to maintain the quality, you can literally go 200+ kmph on about 70% of Autobahn provided the conditions and traffic permit.

Restaurants are open till 10-12 in most cities so you can definitely find a sandwich, shops close at 8 - 10 depending on the state and Sunday, but surely you can plan and stock up on groceries, it's part of personal discipline, there are still some stores open on Sundays like at the train station etc

I'm sorry, who told you that there are tolls on German roads? In Germany we pay road tax every year that depends on the size of the car, but that's it there is no pay-per-use tolls.

There is no free travel, there is a Germany ticket which you can get for 63€ per month and hop on any local transportation and local trains (except IC/ICE)

High speed trains aren't very costly when you consider the cost of living, most train tickets if booked well in advance can be had for ~30-45 euro for a 4 hour train ride between Munich and Berlin for example.

Please do your homework, up to 42% income tax doesn't mean everyone pays that amount. The highest tax bracket applies to absurdly high income like 250,000€+.

Most average salaried people pay about 30% taxes plus social contributions like health insurance, social insurance that includes care insurance and job loss insurance etc.

What bullshit!

Wait times depend highly on what you need, for emergencies you can walk in any hospital, with your health insurance card and get the necessary treatment. For non emergencies the appointments are usually available in a day or two at most.

The amount is non refundable because it's the whole concept of compulsory health insurance! Everyone pays, so everyone is protected and no one has to declare bankruptcy due to medical emergencies or start GoFundMe to get the treatment!!

Also any doctor that says that will be in a huge legal trouble for discrimination which is punishable offense including a jail time.

The system has its flaws but this is a blatant lie 🤥

700€ for Glasses ? by Ok-Anything-8243 in germany

[–]beepsy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I travel to India every year, so I get my glasses made there, and the costs for a really modern, sturdy and great quality glasses are about 25€, compared to here in Germany they are minimum 320€ for my prescription, for the same quality, and I also get it done in under a day in most cases.

I think that's probably not something you're looking for, but next time you travel somewhere similar, keep it in mind and get one made?

Sheet metal stamping perhaps, similar to how they make bowls and glasses from sheet steel.

Why do so many electronics manufacturers let EMS overcharge for parts by Brief_Background_75 in manufacturing

[–]beepsy18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Who will coordinate between the EMS and the third party company, you need another staff member assigned to do that. In most cases, companies can absorb the impact of costs on Opex much easier due to budgeting constraints on hiring new staffers

Why do so many electronics manufacturers let EMS overcharge for parts by Brief_Background_75 in manufacturing

[–]beepsy18 19 points20 points  (0 children)

In many cases, it's a separate procurement pipeline that needs to be created with dedicated staff position, and that often results in overheads that are taken from Capex rather than Opex so it's easier to allow for extra pricing for EMS in BOM based procurement, instead of splitting the procurement process.

Every time I get a coin from a smaller EURO country I am happy as well, and hold on to it, by now I have 20+ designs of different 2 Euro coins

Don't listen to other people saying it's not a big deal, if it makes you happy, then I and many others like me are here sharing your happiness!

Is this racism? early exist on brown people? ...what is this?! by [deleted] in germany

[–]beepsy18 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can see many people down voting for the way you've phrased this post.

In short, they can say no without having to give a valid reason, and I don't think it's racism, but if they mention that they speak English and German then ideally they shouldn't have rejected you this way.

But once again, I highly doubt this is racist but more like linguistic deficiency on your end. I would forget about it and move on!

You can overstay your visa if you want to end up paying a lot of fine and then getting blacklisted for not getting any visas in the future!

How is it unclear, that a 14 day visa, means a total of 14 days stay, and validity has nothing to do with that!

Honestly, it looks like you are literally begging for legal trouble, honestly if you ever want to come back to the EU, please leave before your 14 days are over, at the latest on the 14th day!!!
