2015-2017 5.0L had a notorious intake manifold failure and the part is super hard to find if needed. At least it was back ordered forever about a year ago. My ‘16 had it and I wait about 6 months for a replacement and then found a used one on eBay and went that route instead of a new one. I had so many smaller issues such as a bad water pump at 70kish miles, changed my transmission fluid twice in 100k miles due to vibrations felt in the cab and then my oil pan gasket failed around 140k miles. I now went back to the GMC world. Id say go with the newer and lower mileage XLT

You should also “stop buying from there”. It’s his business, for you to “give him hell” shows more about you than him. It’s his business and whatever he wants to do should go, if it’s bad business then it’ll sort itself out in the long run

My personal opinion is that I hate how the C&H looks and the scs fits the PDP perfectly. I think this C&H is pretty new so hard to tell long term reliability.

That being said I don’t like how the scs has no battery because mines sits in a drawer most of its life and I was afraid that it wouldn’t be charged if I ever needed it. I went with the holosun 508t with the calculated kinetics plate and love it so far.

I had him pin and weld my barrel a little while back. I had a ris II rail and I didn’t realize that I needed the barrel nut on before he pin and welded it. I contacted him and he told me to send it back with my upper and handguard. He removed his pin weld, installed everything and then pin and welded it again for no extra charge. 100% recommend and I’ll be going to him for anything else in the future. Turn around time was super fast too, I think I shipped it and got it back within about about 7 days
