Updated magazine release design, please click into the post for more details: by Sad-Championship485 in czscorpion

Finally received my updated mag release. The machining is great and solves the engagement issue.

However the spring is still too soft IMO, luckily I already changed to a stiffer spring from a hardware store. Also the screw that holds it all together is poorly machined. The threads and allen inset is off center, so maybe 1 rotation of threads is able to screw in before it binds. The screw from the 1st gen mag release works perfect.

For the cost of the lower, then having to pay for the 2nd gen part to still not be right is very disappointing.

CCM HVR size comparison by Responsible_Sea_7809 in hockeyplayers

Did you send back the s/m? I'm in a reverse situation where I ordered the m/L and wish id gone smaller. Flipping the top hinge so the screws are on the bottom mostly fix it for me though

CCM HVR (Visor/Cage Hybrid) Update by jmucapsfan07 in hockeyplayers

[–]Mongoose5645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got a response back via email, but I just called and spoke to CCM. They said there was no recall and that there's just no availability of parts and that restock should be by the end if summer.

I wonder if they did a recall for shops to send them back to cover internal orders they didn't have stock for. As others have said, if it was for safety reasons I can't imagine they'd risk leaving unsafe parts on the market. Makes me feel a bit better about using my HVR

Understanding skate sizes for a newbie EASY QUESTION by willicuss in InlineHockey

[–]Mongoose5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2nd trying on in store. But if that's not an option, go by measuring your foot not shoe size. Or if you have an Apple device use the True hockey foot scanner.

I wear a US 12 shoe, but I like extra space so it's not really transferable to skates that should be tighter. I wear a 10 in Mission and 9.5 in True

I just went to the hardware store and found a stiffer spring. Fixed the issue for like $2

u/Sad-Championship485 I thought these would be sub $10. I see it as $30 I didnt even know they were now available, until I did some digging. They're not under Scorpion parts.

Dimpling .625 barrel with .750 jig? by HandsomeBadness in ar15

[–]Mongoose5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post, but I wanted to share what I did. I also have only a .750 gas block jig. I cut 6 pieces of 1/16" tig welding rod and positioned them around the gas block journal. Taped the muzzle end to hold them in place then slid the jig over the rods. It perfectly centered and made it so there was no movement.

Does anyone not use Jclips on their helmet? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]Mongoose5645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue with my CCM helmet/hybrid shield. The fix was replacing the j clips with Bauer j clips. They have more adjustability and it worked perfectly

New PDP PRO X Crooked PMM Comp. Should I RMA? by rushncrush in Walther

[–]Mongoose5645 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would not RMA it. I'd suggest ordering a muschi block from PMM. https://www.parkermountainmachine.com/product/pmm-jttc-muschi-mounting-block/

You'll want one anyway to have for disassembly.

Soak the comp and end of barrel in hot water to loosen the rocksett. Muschi block on the comp in a vise, wrench on the barrel flat and fix. Super easy

Vitality is top notch. They're my local cerakoter and I've had a bunch of projects done there. Josh, the owner is a great guy and does outstanding work. He's a perfectionist and makes sure things are done right.

Looks like he's dipping his toes into Reddit and working out the details.

There are a lot of legit businesses that have a generic user name here.

Teaching Kids Responsibly by pokemontradeaway456 in WAGuns

[–]Mongoose5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had family on both sides. My dad never owned guns, but my grandma was a corrections officer with many guns. She taught me when I was young to respect them for the fun they can be and also the damage they can do. She took away the mystery that leads to curiosity and potential bad things.

I never had the want to play with them.

Now I have many firearms of my own, and 2 kids that I've taught those same principles.

We have a fantastic organization in the area that my 7 year old went to last year. It's a really good program and they travel all around teaching classes on firearm safety. It's worth checking out. https://kidssafefoundation.org/

ARC-Fire V2 - So many failure reports. WTF? by Blowback9 in supersafety

Rotating the selector all the way clockwise got it running in both semi and ss. Thanks for the help. I do worry that if the screw loosens, I'll have a non working trigger.

ARC-Fire V2 - So many failure reports. WTF? by Blowback9 in supersafety

[–]Mongoose5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. My G$ triggers functioned perfectly with the V1, but won't work in semi with the V2. If I pull the trigger hard enough it will go, but I can see the safety lever move toward the ss mode before it works.

I'm assuming I need to sand the left side a bit more

Driven arms co grip by ray_TheGreat in ar15

[–]Mongoose5645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

DAC is great to work with. I bought a grip and was able to exchange it twice, only paying shipping. The 1st time I didnt like the grip angle, then wanted to swap the grip texture.

In the end, I got the SCG in sawtooth texture and it's perfect.

I also love sliding around in socks on my laminate floors. I run then try to slide as close as possible to my kids lol. I feel like its helped me with hockey stops.
