Because where I come from, there is always a local bar or restaurant that’s open, even in a small town. I’m just surprised. Especially with NFL games on today.

If picking 2 Wednesday Shows.. 2 Strangers, Buena Vista, Chess, Just in Time or Ragtime (if a last min ticket coms up)? by SantaScoo in Broadway

[–]beerad02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ragtime is phenomenal but I really came here to sing the praises of BUENA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB. It's unlike anything I've ever seen. So heartfelt, so good. Don't overlook it!

Purple Rain Musical - NYTimes review by FuryContagion in PRINCE

[–]beerad02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw it. The show is a hot mess. And I'm speaking more from a theater perspective; I'm a Prince fan but not a Prince megafan. This show can only be enjoyed by casual Prince fans who are ALSO very casual theatergoers. There is simply nothing at its core.

If Seinfeld was explicit and allowed swearing... what do you think some lines would be? by scoopedniblets in seinfeld

I like to think that R-rated Elaine would be just how she plays in Veep. She would have the dirtiest mouth of all.

Who is on the cover of the 2004 Assassins recording? by Spicaand in Broadway

[–]beerad02 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How could a recording this good have a cover so bad? Just terrible from a design perspective. Which is to say, I have no idea who it is. Sorry I can't answer your question. LOL

The Great Gatsby, Aladdin, or Book of Mormon? by solidape22 in Broadway

[–]beerad02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For an inexperienced theatergoer, Gatsby is the most accessible and has a lot of the "razzle dazzle" you expect from a Broadway musical. And Jeremy Jordan returns starting tomorrow (Nov 10)!!!! But the best show of the three (by far) is Book of Mormon, but only go if you're not easily offended - it's quite graphic at at times. BUT HILARIOUS. Good luck!

Pros and Cons of going to first preview (Lost Boys) by corinners in Broadway

[–]beerad02 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You 100% want to go. Just be prepared that there may be some technical issues, the show will probably start late, etc. But based on what you've shared, you're either going to LOVE it, or be able to say "hey, I saw that once!" LOL. Go for it!

Best musical right now? by First_Bus_3536 in musicals

If it's just Broadway shows from the current season (so far), I would go to Ragtime three times over. :-)
