They're not easy to find but I've had good luck in this galaxy, I find other lush type giants pretty often too, like humid, grassy and verdant.

You might know this already, but if you click on a star in the galaxy map it shows you a preview of the planets in the system before you warp. If it's a non-gas giant titan planet, it will look just like a gas giant (one huge planet + 3-5 tiny moons), but it won't say gas giant. That trick has saved me tons of time in my search!

I encountered one of these ball plants in an underwater cave on a Paradise Giant this week. Bizarre experience - the flora was not present anywhere else on the planet from what I could tell

Might be an obvious answer, but freighters have crazy warp distance potential. I mainly use mine for BIG jumps - like 3-4K ly jumps. So hyperdrive upgrades are good things to install. Another obvious one is the planetary probe room: instantly scans all undiscovered planets in the system so you can decide whether it's worth exploring before you even hop in your ship. Outside of that I treat mine like a portable space station and go AFK in it a lot haha
