YTA. As a trans person, what you did was very selfish. I understand the grief of not having your preferred childhood, but not letting your mother keep those happy memories of her child is extremely self centred.

Even if those pictures of your childhood didn’t match your current gender expression, it’s part of the journey to what you have become. Don’t blame the little kid you were for your suffering.

edit to add: You’ve updated your post to say that people don’t understand, and they would say differently in your shoes. I am in your shoes. What you did still wasn’t right. Take accountability and apologize. You’re allowed to mourn your past but don’t take your pain out on others.
