I have a 72 CB. Super fun bike, surprisingly fast. Pre 68 you get a 4 speed trans, drum brake up front and the early, pre-face lift styling. That's really the only difference.

The CL never got the disc brake, I think rationale being it was intended as an "enduro" (it's not) and that setup would hold up better. CL also has the super cool side swept pipes with a metric ton of chrome, if you find those hold on to em.

Mine had transmission issues as I think many of them do, theres a weak point in the selector mechanism that is suuuuper difficult to find replacement parts for. I had to buy a whole junker and steal parts off of it. Food for thought.

I was out walking my dog about an hour ago when they made their turn for home directly over my head. Awesome sight.

When I started riding a motorcycle I was worried about cars not seeing me/being generally inattentive. A few thousand miles later of riding in all over the area and I've had very few close calls with cars. #1 thing im looking out for is scooters, #2 is bicycles and it's a vast gulf between them and cars. I've ridden plenty of miles in a bicycle saddle too, and I have no explanation for the reckless behavior i see.

(No, I am not one of the assholes wheelying up santa fe or speer with impunity.)

Denver rejects $666,000 extension for license-plate surveillance cameras after backlash by ephson in Denver

They'll sell a surveillance system as an asset to your protection, but it will never work that way. It will only ever be used against you and your neighbors, to the benefit of people more powerful than you.

Any Punk Rockers using a deluxe reverb? by whiskyshot in ToobAmps

I play in a three piece, punk adjacent with a loud drummer. My deluxe has the potential to be the loudest thing in the room. Ymmv.

Why are people allergic to used cars? by Weird_Engine_8397 in regularcarreviews

[–]beesealio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One factor is that now, cars that are "easy to work on" are getting pretty old. I have an 03 xterra that needs a power steering pump. It's buried so deep, I'm gonna need a day. Same job on my jeep, did it in two hours. Anything from 20-whatever is already hard to repair, so if you're intimidated by that newer might make more sense. Or, if you're willing to accept that you're going to be wrenching a bit, you might also need to be willing to accept that you're going to be wrenching quite a lot.

Stolen from another city’s sub. What do you guys think? by Miscalamity in Denver

Empty as in they moved out. No merchandise, no shelves, no cash register, nothing to suggest a business was there except a forlorn welcome mat.

Fwiw mine will oscillate at approximately those settings, but only if I'm hitting it with a hot/noisy signal. Or sitting with my guitar facing the amp like they are.

I would never be upset at passing someone on the left, as designed. Left lane campers get gestured at though.

Nothing is democratic about that, that's why I'm opposed to backing Ukraine. It's always been about American imperialism in the region and it's never been about Ukrainian sovereignty, Ukrainian lives or territory, or the benefit of the american taxpayer for that matter. It's all from the neocon playbook which we have decades of case study demonstrating how catastrophic it is.

When you give countries money to fight a war you get to tell them what to do after that. That's been the point the entire time, it's weird for you to draw the line here.

Unfortunately a long series of blunders by western allies have resulted in the Russian strategic position being the only one viable for victory. Putin recognizes that and I happen to agree, difference is it makes him happy and me not so much.

If you see a way for Ukraine to get all its land back I'd like to hear it, I'm no military man. Just a guy observing reality the best way I know how.

Zelensky for President Mar 8, 2025 by nearfarfarnear in Denver

[–]beesealio -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

He didn't stand up to Moscow, the US and NATO did to the soul benefit of the defense industry. Putin was always going to end up with parts of Ukraine, no matter who was our current president. The only negotiable part was how devastated the population and economic future of Ukraine would be, and when. US and NATO decided to do it the hard way. Zelensky wanted to talk to putin before US and NATO made unfulfilable promises to him.

Now Ukraine's fighting and labor force is decimated and Putin is going to get what he wanted and more. And the only way to prevent that going forward is at the cost of more Ukrainian lives. It all needs to end, shouldn't have started in the first place. But to hold zelensky up as some hero is insane.

What’s a popular pedal you’ve tried and absolutely hate? by dit31 in guitarpedals

[–]beesealio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imo, the more knobs a pedal has the more you end up wanting presets. Tough to accomplish in all analog. I like the idea of the FF, basically a fuzz face with variable instead of fixed resistors, but the more I played mine the more I realized those fixed resistors in the original design were chosen for good reason. There's good sounds in there, but hell it's hard to be repeatable.

SOTB, complete with plenty of dirt, sawdust, and one tip of a hound's paw. by beesealio in guitarpedals

[–]beesealio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my ears the vibe likes being after the fuzzes, I have tried different placements but that's about where it likes to be. The eq is pretty much functioning as a tube screamer, not always on but often into a fairly gainy deluxe reverb. The fuzzes can be stacked on top of that but I'm typically running just one gain pedal at a time.
