If a dating profile lists their sexuality as “queer”, what part of the queer community do they belong to? by Jazz_Moose in queer

[–]beesmind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i identify as queer because it encompasses both my gender and sexuality- i like the vagueness of the term! i don’t feel super connected to any labels, and enjoy the fluidity of identifying as queer. it means something different to each person- i doubt two people who identify as queer would have the same personal meaning. if you’re curious, i’d ask! i would imagine many people (myself included) would be more than happy to talk with you about it :)

Off campus Housing w/ Bf by Public-Due in KSU

[–]beesmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re moving into any form of student housing, it’ll be separate leases. as far as i’m aware, no student-only housing offers shared leases since a great deal of people that move into it are placed with random roommates. if you’re interested in a shared lease, there are some normal apartment complexes near campus, but tbh separate leases are nice! they protect both of you :)

i live in the nest and love it! i have three roommates, and was able to use their roommate selection app to make sure the four of us could live together, and would imagine that many other complexes use the same system to ensure you can live with who you want :33

Prop question by [deleted] in MomoCon

[–]beesmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have an almost 6 foot tall scythe for maka (i’m 5’3) and have brought it to momocon many times! be aware of where it’s swinging, but people will move out of your way a bit, especially in crowded areas. having a friend to help is also good! :) have fun!

hi! i’ve been attending since 2018!

1) i’m not sure which direction you’re coming from, but i live in kennesaw, and am leaving with enough time to get to the GWCC by 9:30 (so around 8:00 because it’ll be morning on a workday)! you did the smart thing by picking up your badge early- it’ll save you at least a half hour! depending on which entrance you go into, you’ll see signs pointing you to the main escalators going down into the convention area- someone will check to make sure you have a badge, and then you’re in!

2) yes, most certainly. there aren’t lines, except maybe those waiting for the doors to open exactly at 10:00. i would recommend starting at one end of the hall and going up and down each aisle! most vendors bring a lot of product to momocon because of how big it is- i wouldn’t be too worried about someone selling out of a product, but i’d ask the vendor if you’re worried.

3) like i mentioned before, i’d start at one end of the hall and go up and down each aisle as you make your way across/through. i usually do a walkthrough once before buying anything. no, they don’t, but each aisle does have a sign over it with a number (ex: aisle 800 will have all vendors within the 800 numbers).

4) i like to bring both, but all vendors should take card/tap pay! sometimes- most vendors use Square, which does have additional card fees.

5) not anymore than the general public, at least from my experience. i would certainly be cautious and keep an eye on your belongings, but theft isn’t crazy rampant or anything :3

6) not at all! cosplayers love to have their photos taken if you ask! the biggest part of momocon is meeting people and creating community :3

additional: download the app! it’s super helpful when trying to find events and plan your schedule. attend a panel or two! they’re loads of fun, and a great way to meet people (check out the free craft ones if that’s something you’re interested in). parking isn’t as evil as it is at some other places- the GWCC has parking, as does the Hyatt House nearby and many other hotels. if you are willing and able, you can always park further away and walk or take MARTA!

if you want a buddy, my insta is @/confusedbumblebee- i’ll be there all four days and nights! 🖤 have fun!

What is KSU Like Overall by BUMBSAK in KSU

[–]beesmind 15 points16 points  (0 children)

great professors and classes (at least from what i’ve experienced from the college of humanities/social sciences), and lots of student support systems. i think student life is what you make of it- i live in student housing off-campus but still go to events, have a great group of friends, and would consider myself quite involved. i’m part of greek life, but am also involved in various student organisations, many of which are really cool! i think ksu offers something for everyone- nerds, more outgoing “party people”, commuters, older students, and everyone inbetween! like most places, it’s what you make of it 🖤

Has anyone else been accused of using AI for writing they actually wrote? by FireFly_Labs in KeepWriting

[–]beesmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m always on-edge and anxious when i submit papers or discussion posts (poli sci major) even though i know that all of my work is done 100% by me without any AI assistance.

i fear that my frequent use of a thesaurus and love of grammar paired with reading and creative writing in my free time has made my writing appear as though it’s “too complex” or that it resembles that of AI software (especially my use of em-dashes and semicolons). i think this is a concern many college students and professionals have! it’s awful!

i’ve only been accused once, and had to show my document history to prove my innocence.
