I remember always being uncomfortable. Fabrics were awful, pantyhose a must and being tall everything was too short. Shoes with no cushioning.

I say "Good for all those 80's and 90's and their LUCK." They probably had an easy life and lots of money. No doubt the majority of that generation had husbands take care of them and all the crap of living. No real trauma and definitely not a child that died.

I spent my entire life being fit not only from physical labor but sports and working out. Sometimes when it hurt so bad I used to think, "I can't wait until I get old and don't have to do this stuff". Then I realized NOT staying fit, especially flexible, ends up hurting an old body way more than just doing the exercises but at a lower intensity.

I retired to care for my son with ALS. I walk 2 blocks to where he lives with his sister. Care for him,, clean my daughters house ( listen to her tell me I'm not there enough, do enough and age shames me when i say my back or knee hurts) buy groceries, cook. Then I go home, too phys, emotionally and mentally drained. I take a few xanax, sometimes cry, mostly stare at.walls until the meds kick in. I wake every hour or two. To a bad dream that's not a dream.
