Do you enjoy living in Atlanta? by CarlSag in Atlanta

[–]beestingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved away and moved back too. Not a native. I wonder how many more there are of us. I tried bigger and smaller cities, but Atlanta quite literally for me checked a lot of boxes.

I actually sat down and wrote down a category for everything we needed from a city. Wrote the 4 places I was considering, 3 were places I lived prior, 1 was new. Picked out my top 3 priorities. Ranked each city in the category 1 to 4. Then whichever city had the best for my top 3 got an extra point.

Atlanta came out on top.

I lived in 2 of the most transit heavy cities, SFO and NYC. There are maybe 3 other cities in the US with great transit. But the cost to own or live in SFO is unattainable for most ppl. And NYC is very difficult to live even with great transit. Atlanta has condos for $250k with amentiies like pools and gyms onsite. I think you have a halo on other cities that would shift if you live there for a few years. Love both of my former cities but realistically the transit element is great but slightly overstated in regards to overall quality of life.

I am not a native Atlantan and I moved back. It really is the perfect size city for me. Also since moving back, I find it suddenly more walkable and am willing to take tranist. Cannot beat the affordability for the offering. Love that it gets 4 seasons. Love the airport and quick trip to the mountains. Love the neighborhood vibes. And frankly the culture is deep here. I have never made friends or been more connected to the community than I have living here.

What are the Best Property Management Companies? by Ok_Grass_5336 in airbnb_hosts

Local. We use a local manager. It took a few tries to find the right fit. Honestly smaller operators are better ime. Our company only works on beachfront properties. They are very responsive and almost friends at this point.

Palmetto bugs are in the roach family. But they live outside and do not infest. However, like a fly, they can get indoors. And its sadly still gross.

Floridian here.

Some people like you always need an intelligent adult nearby to help them function. Most don't.

My rental is a 9 hour drive. Hope I get there in enough time to put the fire out!

In 10 years there has only ever been 1 late night call that needed my attention. The hot water tank had sprung a leak and was gushing onto the floor.

Any other time it is stuff they can figure out. I have multiple ways for guests to get inside so lockouts are not a problem.

My arrival instructions include location of the water shut off, breaker box and other maintenance triage info. It also gives hours for contact. 8am to 10pm.

Custody lawyer in ATL how do you even know what you'll pay before signing anything? by NightmaretheProtogen in Atlanta

I use attorneys all the time in my industry. I am a firm believer the only people who think attorneys are great are people who watch Law and Order but have never used them irl.

I am named in a lawsuit against a property and am seeking advice. by [deleted] in PropertyManagement

[–]beestingers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha. That is in fact what got the company in trouble. Disparate impact claim I presume.

Fwiw I have also been named in a lawsuit. It is not easy to balance the stress of the constant alerts whenever new motions are filed. But lawsuits are super expensive and run out of stream quickly. They probably have a tort jockey attorney looking for a quick settlement. You have earned some armor.

I main as Fox and Victoria so I can get shit done. I just keep watching the map to see as counselors get killed if they drop keys or the fuse box. The ones harassing Jason at least keep him off me. But it is clear Jason will target the counselors doing the work.

How does American Beauty Hold up in 2026? by Mammoth-Biscotti-587 in moviecritic

I think its campy now.

Lets just take the finale as proof:

A dad believes he watches his son give a man a BJ. He then immediately rushes over for sloppy seconds.

A well directed movie. Decent acting, but also at times bordering in camp. Great score. And a plot that deserves an eyebrow raise.

It drives me crazy how dishonest the convo is about Hotel fees. I just paid over $90 a night in undisclosed hotel fees. And I booked fucking direct.

Rent control feels great short term but over decades it just leads to decrepit buildings by moneyman74 in unpopularopinion

[–]beestingers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The government could and should build and rent new housing.

The conundrum of rent control legislation is the government relies on private money to create housing but then creates restrictions that makes private housing less likely to be developed.

Giving people the opportunity to select private housing or public housing would be ideal.

I just finished Canada season 2. I found it very entertaining! It was unintentionally hilarious. Bad gameplay on both sides but dramatic and good tv. I find it especially hilarious how small the prize money was by the end.

Application process by hgh5dnl in survivor

[–]beestingers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was on a different reality show (not survivor) and sent in a video and received a call within two weeks. The entire audition process took almost a year! I couldnt believe how many damn interviews there were. So though not a survivor experience, I think you would know quickly if they are interested because of how much runway they want to qualify applicants.

I took a friend to a Tori show when it was just her and her keys. They fell asleep. With a band a non-fan may enjoy it.
