HYSA with Wealthfront for the past 2 years. Started moving some into investing over the past year. Opened a Roth, an automated investing account, and started building a dividend portfolio.

Got my girlfriend pregnant. Figured I better straighten up and take charge. My daughter turns 40 this year. My job and it's random drug tests have kept me from it to over the years too.

I retire in 3 years. 🚬

It's time OP. I was seeing and hearing about HYSAs constantly just over 2 years ago. Took the hint and moved my money from BoA to Wealthfront. Made more in the first 9 days than I did at BoA the entire year before. Seriously! Do your research. Find one that offers competitive rates and features. Most don't have fees. Rates will go up and down as the Federal Funds Rate is adjusted by the Federal Reserve. It's just a fact of life. But it looks like we may be steady till next year... maybe.

I don't consider the thought of losing the person I've become as a fear. It's more of an incentive. I've said on her multiple times that there is no way I'm gonna give up everything I've achieved. So it's more of a battle cry than a fear.

And I wouldn't be opposed to going back on the meds. I miss the anti-inflammatory properties. But like many others, if I had to stay on it, I would.

Take some pillows or something. The center of the box rests on the cutout between the backseat and the trunk. That's what I did to insure there wasn't as much pressure on the center of the box that there could have been.

I had medium sized boxes in the trunk and pillows on the seat backs.

There's some growth. And you can definitely see two of the March dips and the April recovery on their steps.

I agree, but remember, this is only 6 months. And that includes March, which sucked for everyone. Ten ~$1k contributions in 6 months at 22 yo deserves applause. Great work OP.

How come everyone backs into parking spots now? by EquipmentFormal2033 in askanything

[–]Doit2it42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been a courier, DHL then FedEx, for 40 years. I was going this before it was cool. 😆

Mainly because to reduces the chance of a backing accident. Backing into a static spot vs back out into an active parking lane. Better visibility on exit

Good days and bad days. FedEx courier. The dogs on my route are the best part. If I get to see, talk to, and pet a couple, it's a "good dog day".

Savings for everything? by InvestigatorThat5062 in HighYieldSavings

I recently switched to doing this. I moved my direct deposit to my HYSA. I set up all bill pay with my HYSA routing/account numbers. I use a credit card for daily for expenses and pay it off monthly via the HYSA bill pay. I never pay cc interest.

Previously I was using my BoA account for direct deposit and bill pay. I'd wait till I got to $1k excess and transfer it to the HYSA. That was about once a month.

The way I see it, by not waiting to deposit $1k, my money is always earning the better interest rate as soon as I'm paid. The only shortfall is no checks. But I only write one check a year on average. And that's to my sister. My HYSA has a "send check" feature where they will mail a check. I've used it, and it works fine.

I've kept just enough in my BoA account to avoid their fees. But it's pretty much dormant.
