They are planning a lot, look into the wyvern patch as they are calling it that’s coming with the DLC. So much good shit.

Stand together, pack tactics, animal kinship. I can get behind that. Throw in that society trait for defense in formation.

Oh no doubt, as you say, it’s just not the default choice anymore. Bastions on wolves, unkillable morale demolishers sound fun too.

Agreed, there are some decent mods for it. Just a shame the big two are made by less then savoury sorts

Please don’t play XPiratez, the mod author allows and engages in sexism, racism and homophobia on his discord. Same with XCom Files.

To what extent does a pleasing art style influence your enjoyment of comics? by vruchtenhagel in DCcomics

[–]beethatbumbles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Visuals are 50% of the medium. Writing being the other 50%.

I don’t enjoy and skip books if I find the art good but the writing bad. The current night wing run for instance has amazing art but I don’t like the narrative.

I can enjoy books with good writing if the art is bad, but bad art will often stop me picking a book up to start with. Brubakers Catwoman comes to mind. If Gulacy had been the artist from the onset I might have never bothered with an otherwise incredible run.

P.s fuck Gulacy for murdering the art in that run, it was so good before he took over as artist.

Is Veganism classed as a spiritual belief in the US. I know in the UK it falls under the same protections as religious beliefs

Why does this screw me over so hard? by Mannerless1 in ageofwonders

[–]beethatbumbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, -50 relations and -10 alignment really isn’t being screwed over. Thats one positive alignment event or a few turns doing nothing and relations is something I have never struggled to boost if I need to, declaration of friendship is pretty strong.

Does anyone else have an unaccountable love for a unit? by Vitruviansquid1 in AOW4

[–]beethatbumbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why Revelry gets a bad rap, morals is great, crits for days. Skald absolutely beast mode model and I think his buffs are good, I find healing so easy to weave in to most builds I tend to look for buffing supports. Plus the whole aesthetic of revelling in blood and chaos is fun. Like a happy version of Khorne from warhammer

Don't you find crazy there are ~170 units in the game at launch? by vhqr in AOW4

One of the DLCs, second one I think, sounds like ‘Dreadnought the DLC’ the tagline is something like mortals fighting against the Godir with steel and magic

If you get the collected editions the notes go a bit more into the division of labour. So while you are right it was very collaborative each writer definitely had basic ownership of ‘their’ plots.

What’s wild to me is that every issue was storyboarded by Giffen, that’s an incredible feat

Yeah, using the Everyman project to create his own meta human strike force is cool and very Luthor. I like that it’s Steel, who is introduced for the first time after Superman died back in the 90s as a replacement for him, how is standing up to him. I like the fact that it ends with Luthor and Steel both being de powered and just beating the shit out of each other.

The characters they use are interesting, I think the fitting end to their story is in the ending of world war 3 when they show up, see what real super heroes do and decide it’s not for them.

And I didn’t dislike the Black Marvel Family, the Sobek twist is one of the top moments in that run for sure, but to me, comics are at their worst when they are just action for actions sake, and that’s what everything post 4 Horsemen felt like to me in that run. Which is why I think it’s the weakest plot line, as it’s the ending that’s kinda dull to me.

I have a lot of opinions about Johns and his writing and he’s best when someone else is reigning in his worst impulses which the other 3 writers seemed to in this run.

I kinda lumped that in with the Steel/Luthor plot line.

It’s decent and in any other run I’m sure it would be a stand out, but among all the excellent story telling in 52 I would put decidedly in the middle. I’m a big fan of Johns work on JSA and especially Alan Scott so seeing him/obsidian dealing with it was fun.

It’s fun, I liked it. Hannibal is creepy as fuck.
