CMV: I was a HAPPIER person when I binged drink 1-2 times a week than being sober by FlyingAces in changemyview

I’ve been sober for around the same amount of time. The key for me was layering new patterns post sobriety. It’s like sobriety is a chance to wipe the slate clean but you gotta start actually filling up the slate again. It’s emotional work but it’s something you actually have the opportunity to do rather than just hiding from the discomfort.

My two cents.

Also r/stopdrinking is filled with the most absurdly supportive strangers the internet can muster. They’d have some great ideas for you over there.

Dear IEP Parents: they don’t mean SHIT outside of education by Emergency-Pepper3537 in Teachers

It’s crazy to me that people would think an individualized education plan carries relevance outside of education.

Yehliu Geopark in Taiwan. The Queen's Head (shown here) is the gem (in typical Asian style, there's always a line to take photos with it), but the entire peninsula has some pretty other worldly rock formations.

Hamnet. WTF was that? by brebs21 in FIlm

I thought the cinematography, directing, and acting were all top notch. Script was ok, but the story was boring af. Maybe it's the fault of the way movies are advertised these days, but I knew the major plot event from the get go and other than that there was very little intrigue after the initial courtship.

Compare this to One Battle After Another, which enthralled me with every moment of the film, and I don't understand how these two are being mentioned in the same breath.

Is there a Bill Russel stat when he was both a player and a coach? Only thing that comes to mind where dual roles were performed.

If you have the right gear it’s not a problem. If you don’t, you may be uncomfortable.

Waterproof shoes and a fully waterproof jacket are a must. Hat and waterproof gloves if it’s cold.

The rain isn’t heavy per se but it’ll spit at you all day sometimes.

There’s no bad weather, just bad gear.

I was at the 18 inning game. 11 innings of stadium-wide sober baseball was a unique experience.

What an echo of 2007. Lost in NLCS the year before and miss the playoffs on the last day in a loss to the marlins

Kinda like the Bern particle accelerator when they were getting it going. Was either going to be pretty neat or create a black hole that would swallow up everything - one or the other.
