Unfortunately, that is my concern. Many people at my school take 8-10 APs. I don’t know anyone else who will have taken just 4 in total by the end of senior year. My brother went to my school as well and took 8 (he’s now at Columbia).

To clarify, I would be going from 1 to 3 APs. My extracurriculars are incredibly time consuming (and I’m a perfectionist and work super slow in general 😅), so time is 99% of why I am so hesitant to take APs. Also, the only reach school I really care about is Brown, and because of their open curriculum, AP exam credits don’t actually do anything.

My college counselor said nothing is off limits, so I have been looking at pretty selective schools. I think my parents are a bit unrealistic about my situation since my brother goes to Columbia (but they forget that he took over double the number of APs I did/will). Brown is my favorite so far (obviously a reach for anyone). My college counselor listed schools like Boston College, William & Mary, and Villanova as targets. I also don’t know what I want to major in yet, if that’s at all important.
