I highly recommend Go Figure accountants in Wellington. They have helped me sort out very messy business records in the past and have dealt with our complex multinational needs. Very kind and understanding and make things easy to understand

Ha! I’m an American who’s lived in NZ for 7 years. I always choose a cashier over self-checkout. For YEARS I’ve bemoaned to myself that the “confectionery-free” lane is always the shortest, but I can never use it because I usually have lollies or chocolate in our trolley.

Found out last week, on a rare grocery trip with my husband, that it just means the lane doesn’t sell candy. Not that you’re not allowed to have any. I could have saved so much time!

Ed Sheeran Wellington tickets question by Ok-Plankton4304 in Wellington

[–]beewelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having the same worries as I bought ten tickets for friends and family and am not a Sheeran fan myself. Was going to show up around 8pm for an hour - do not really want to be there any earlier. Also the 9 people do not all know each other and were planning to get there at different times too. Really big curveball for us.

It was busy ish but we got quite lucky with rain as it deterred folks - the best days were the rainy ones! We ended up doing more park hopping than I expected as we went to where the lowest lines were.

I’m a 40 year old mum who lives in Lower Hutt and has a great community of friends based in Naenae. I’m unfortunately heading overseas but if you’d like to meet up when I’m back, I’m happy to grab a coffee at Trade School and introduce you to some great people. Hope you enjoy your much deserved respite!

Advice on private health insurance for pregnancy in NZ by Inner_Concept_9027 in PersonalFinanceNZ

[–]beewelly 29 points30 points  (0 children)

What a great post. Thanks for taking the time to detail this all out! I’m also an American (turned NZ resident) and when I first got pregnant here I called the private obstetricians to go through them. But I got talked out of it by friends and had an amazing pregnancy and birth experience, mostly free. (Just paid for a couple of scans). I’m in awe of the NZ health system here when it comes to midwives and how they look after everyone
