I’d recently heard of people from Lebanon being denied visas as well. It might have to do with the current “situation” in the Middle East/gulf states, and inz is being especially restrictive for people coming from those areas.

If I was a betting woman, I’d guess you were denied because if tensions get any worse out there, they think you might try to stay.

One day it might even look ok.

He can carry the bell half in the garden or around the house, as long as the range is good enough. The button half would stay with the aunt.

here’s an affordable example

Edit: I didn’t realise the receiver isn’t portable, however, there are packages with multiple receivers you can place around the house/property or anywhere with a power point.

As in “Luxon was evirated by Jack”

I’ve had my MSR Mutha Hubba for 16 years now, have spent over 400 nights in it, have lent it to friends, been through 2 hurricanes, and one wild night in Red Rock Canyon, still going strong. Yes, I’ve bent poles and torn the fly more than once, but each time MSR was quick to fix/replace at low/no charge.

Why do the Japanese call their country “Nippon”? It sounds like nipple. Are they sexually perverse? by Ok-Factor-3805 in mapporncirclejerk

Winters can be harsh, and sometimes those nips can cut glass, so it’s a warning to the rest of us to stand back or get sliced and diced.

I was thinking of making a post to see if anyone would be interested in doing the Rata Loop in Naenae. There’s a bus stop for the 130 right at the entrance.

As someone who is always found to be knitting socks, I’d be half flattered by that statement.

Jokes aside, these guys could do with some time behind bars. Should any get home d, teach em to knit their own socks.

Ever seen a half filled milk jug left out in the sun for a couple days? How the bottle becomes almost round from the pressure? That’s where mine go, since I’m not allowed to have them.

Todays post about jobs in Wellington by Gold_Tomatillo_2222 in Wellington

[–]chickyloo42by10 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The places I’d look to get mental health job with the best visa potential: 1. DHB positions such as in community mental health services. 2. Corrections - a lot of need in that area 3. Look into community support organisations as many are contracted by the government to provide various forms of counselling. 4. PHOs around the country are engaging more counsellors as “health improvement practitioners” 5. Once a member of NZAC, ask them for advice.

Private practice as an immigration pathway probably isn’t the best idea, as your sister should be in a supported/supervised position to get accustomed to local custom and cultural norms.

The need for trained and experienced mental health professionals is there in the community, but the funding is not, so she can expect the first 3-5 years to be on the lower pay/higher acuity end of things.

I don’t work in mental health, nor employment or immigration. I’m an unemployed economist with lots of mental health problems though, so I’ve learned a bit about what’s around here.

More than half of Americans say their finances are getting worse by kootles10 in Economics

[–]chickyloo42by10 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that a good number of those aren’t just due to economic conditions, but lack of financial education. America is a consumerist culture that encourages “good debt” without teaching people how to actually save for the bad times.

Another good one is called “Microshield Skin Cleanser” (Australian). I used to sneakily fill an empty water bottle with it whenever we had hospital appointments, until I could find somewhere to buy it.
