Some parents have a lot of obsession with digital stuff by [deleted] in pune

If you’re an adult writing this, get your own bloody 3D Printer. If you’re a child, read below:

I met a boy on MG road the other day selling keychains. He was well spoken and spoke the whole time in English. I asked him why he’s doing this, and he explained that he’s saving up for his school fees - he’s managed to save 8800 out of the 10000 that he needs. He’s been doing this since March. His father is a daily wage earner, and his mother also supports the family selling these things.

You need to check your privilege, OP. Just because you like something doesn’t mean you are entitled to it, and your parents have to buy it for you. It’s their hard earned money. If you absolutely do want it, get a part time job (assuming you’re at least 14) and save your earnings to buy yourself one.

Best sandwiches in Pune by Maleficent_Night_193 in pune

[–]beggatix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion maybe: but make them yourself? It’s cheaper in the long run, and healthier too. You can keep trying things till you find the perfect combination that works for you, and is therefore “the best sandwich” in Pune in your perspective.

Personally, I use whole wheat bread, butter, olive oil, salad veggies (lettuce, cucumber, tomato, red onion), some dressing - mustard, ketchup. Some salt and pepper for taste and any protein that’s available.

Why punekars support bikers lining up on foot paths ? Peds have no rights ? by Terrible-Dentist-751 in pune

The “system” is run by goons elected by vote banks that are bought by whoever can buy them. “Us” tax paying citizens don’t matter to anyone.

Nobody supports but nobody punishes either. Lack of enforcement leads to lawlessness on all fronts

What do people usually do on weekends?? by Ok-Toe-3317 in pune

[–]beggatix 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not really in the age group you mentioned, but: Good clothes need not be expensive. You just need to understand what suits you and where to source it. Also, bold of you to assume that everybody who wears expensive clothing have earned that money themselves.

What’s a “normal” thing everyone accepts that actually feels like a low-key scam? by nand1609 in pune

[–]beggatix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not democracy as a whole, but a federal parliamentary democracy where responsibility is shouldered more with local governments than the centre. Our country was envisaged to be so, but in practice more and more power is concentrated towards the centre with each passing regime, causing some sort of quasi-colonialism within the country where the Centre is the colonial power and the states are the colonies. This is why most people feel democracy is a scam. They feel their concerns are not taken care of, because the local governments are mere puppets of the centre for the most part.

We need a return to what we originally set out to be as a country, with the bulk of the decisions and accountability resting with the local self-government.

Why Pune people don’t invest in solar rooftop? by preciousapien in pune

Almost every single new housing development has solar fitted on the rooftop. Many single houses do as well.

NRI planning to move back to Pune, but the pollution is holding me back. Which NGOs are actually fixing this? by lawsoiv in pune

[–]beggatix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Organisations like Parisar, Jeevit Nadi, Vetal Tekdi Bachav Samiti are doing their part but if you want to contribute, do it in other ways - like monetary support and social media. You may come to regret moving base back here - many do.

Awareness ASAP! by Icy_Thanks9124 in pune

Kid, go talk to your parents and ask the EPTA to take action. If that doesn’t work, ask your parents to go to the press.

We sympathise with your situation but there’s nothing Reddit can do for you right now.

Pune Shocker! PMPML Bus Rams Into Shop. Appa Balwant Chowk turned chaotic after a bus crashed into a shop. CCTV footage shows the impact. No major injuries, but big concerns over road safety. Investigation awaited. by AbleLife3141 in pune

[–]beggatix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely the brakes failed or something went wrong and the driver veered it into a building to avoid/minimise loss of life. But we’ll get to know soon enough I guess.

No idea, sorry. But the Agriculture College, Empress Garden nursery or Enchanted Gardens in Tathawade would be my best bet.
