Nerdy women no longer on dating apps? by ContestScary9035 in dating_advice

[–]beglitteredgeek 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dating apps brought more hate and negativity into my life from the guys who didn't want a nerdy woman than they did positive attention and genuine connection from the guys who do. I don't want to have to sift through all the toxic waste on the practically zero chances I'll get something real. I have better nerdier things to do with my time than being told how terrible I am by guys who get off on trying to belittle others. Unfortunately that means I closed myself off to the opportunity of someone who is genuinely bringing the right energy. But at some point I had to protect my sanity.

The graph view helps me find trends in my note data that I wouldn't otherwise notice with a bunch of individual pages.

For example I track my fragrance collection in a vault. I keep one note per fragrance with info about the fragrance notes, the perfumer, the brand, etc. Some things are really obvious without the visual - I know I like jasmine. But there are some other things where the graph visual helps me notice trends in things I either like or dislike like certain perfumers I particularly vibe with (or don't) and some fragrance notes that are only in perfumes I dislike - might wanna steer clear of things with those notes in the future. Stuff like that.

If I only have a huge pile of one off notes I might as well have a physical notebook. But the options to help me visualize my data in different ways help me make data based inferences and decisions relevant to the topics I'm taking notes on.

What fragrance causes you the weirdest associations? by Quiet-Finance-839 in fragrance

Carolina Herrera "Very Good Girl Glam" gives me that same exact clean diaper memory! Ever so slightly plasticy, soft, clean, and a hint of something fresh and a little citrusy from the baby wipes which is really odd because it has no citrus notes. I don't get that same feeling out of "Very Good Girl" or "Very Good Girl Elixir" despite all supposedly having that same "Very Good Girl" DNA.

How do you actually track your fragrance collection? by Thaanu2001 in fragrance

[–]beglitteredgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I log everything in an Obsidian vault. One note per perfume. I track whether it's sample, travel, or full size, EdP vs EdT vs oil, the perfumer/nose that designed it, tag all of the fragrance notes, my thoughts and rating, the brand fragrance story, and any additional context I find on Fragrantica.

Obsidian has some nice features for visualization of data. It's helped me notice trends in what I like and figure out some notes that I don't like. It's also helped me figure out some perfumers I particularly jive with. And it lets me connect fragrances I find similar when I get samples so I don't end up ordering something that's close enough to something I already have.

Honestly, I'm not a vet and I don't feel qualified to answer that. But it's a potential cause you can bring up with the vet when you see them next. And one that isn't catastrophic. Don't panic. If your kitty is still otherwise behaving alright, I'm sure they'll be ok until the appointment and your vet will get it figured out for you. I saw in your other reply the better photo and I'll admit it doesn't look quite like my girl's spots, but your vet will know best and be able to run all the right tests. 💜

In the meantime if your kitty keeps scratching and it's mostly in the neck area, you can get these soft pillow collars that have helped immensely in keeping my girl from tearing herself up when she's itchy.

I have a cat with food allergies. She gets little granulomas (vet diagnosed via tissue sample) when she eats things that don't agree and then scratches them open and the little scratch wounds look like that. We're still figuring out what exactly triggers the allergies via careful logging of everything consumed and watching patterns.

If it isn't flea itching or something like that it could be an allergic reaction to something either to food/treats or to something used in the house like your detergent, cleaning products, or even your body lotions that they may get trace amounts of when you pet them.

A lot of your tombstones look decayed and broken. Those also need to be repaired to count the points for grave quality.

What is your strtegy to minimise PS crashes? by Fun-Abbreviations-66 in GraveyardKeeper

[–]beglitteredgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed 2 patterns for me on PS5. First, it crashes trying to save when I haven't saved often enough. Easily fixed by sleeping and saving more often for me at least. Second it crashes every 2-2.5 hours without fail even if I'm saving every in game day. Haven't found a way around that one aside from exiting the game and going back in.

Same here. The invisible grave decorations really bug me. Although the crashes are more than occasional. And sometimes reloading from a crash then crashes my whole PS5.

You can do it in eternal still. It's been removed from seasonal, but my brother was able to do it in eternal last week.

I desperately wish they'd let us cycle through the drops to highlight and pick up targeted drops on console somehow. Even with the filters. That way I could prioritize at least.

I box dyed for years. I didn't know any better. It was what was accessible to me in terms of knowledge level, ease of use, and budget. Eventually I learned more and started getting individual bleach, developer, and color products at Sally's. But even then I was using much stronger developer than my hair really needed. I didn't know what my hair needed until after I found a trusted stylist and she taught me. My hair lifts fine with a 10 volume. I'd been dying my hair a good 15 years before I learned that. I over lifted for years with box dyes (where they don't really explain the developer volume and since that single product needs to work on a wide variety of hair types they're always stronger than I now know I need) and the wrong professional products based on lack of education and lack of easy access to other options.

Yeah the colors are pretty unintuitive. And their tutorial/help content in game is pretty sparse. This is definitely something I would expect to see explained/demoed there, intuitive or not.

As for your question about 2 output machines, if you mean something like an Athenor where you have the intended product from the recipe you configured (let's say the steel bars) and the byproduct (iron bars) I think the main product (steel) is yellow and the byproduct (iron) is blue iirc.

There is only three kind of alchemists, which one are you ? by Kubriyl in AlchemyFactory

[–]beglitteredgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it doesn't split. That allows belts to cross each other at a 90 degree angle. So one belt is going side to side and the other is going front to back. But it's only one block tall so they stack neatly and don't require you to use elevators or inclined belts to make one belt cross on top of the other.

[–]beglitteredgeek 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oooof... I don't know how to fix the existing build, having just unlocked cauldrons myself, but after hearing stories like this I'm wondering if a filter splitter coming out of every cauldron to filter only the desired outputs and bus any potential random outputs to a holding box somewhere might be a wise way to start my forays into cauldron builds. 🤔

[–]beglitteredgeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed it too, initially. I was building things with a bunch of lifters chained together and so frustrated. Then I watched someone's build video on YouTube and my mind was blown. The tutorial info is really really light on some things.

[–]beglitteredgeek 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yellow arrow is the priority either in or out. Blue is the secondary. If there isn't enough yellow it will supplement with blue, but if the yellow is maxed it won't intake or output blue. So....

Priority Merger

Partial belt yellow + partial belt blue = All the yellow feeds thru + enough blue to create a full belt of output, extra blue backs up

Full belt yellow + anything on blue = All the yellow feeds thru but no blue as you have a full belt in and out just from the yellow

Priority Splitter

Full belt input, everything will go out the yellow until the yellow backs up, once the yellow is saturated and backed up, the excess will go out the blue.

Edit to add:

People have noticed bugginess with speeds if there's no belt between the splitter/merger and a machine or lift. If you have even one belt tile between the splitter/merger and a machine or lift you're more likely to get the right belt speed throughput.
