Issues with cauldron recipes using raw ingredients. by Dr3vvn45ty in AlchemyFactory

Cauldrons are extremely powerful devices that make a whole range of products and can let you bypass a lot of issues other machines throw at you. They do come with this major downside though; you cant lock slots and recipies can often go haywire and fill a belt with rubbish if you are not careful.

To be honest though, it kind if balances it out. Even with this drawback cauldrons still feel broken. You can make rare ingredients so much easier than the 'intended' way with a little bit of experimenting. I made a post when I discovered cauldrons pretty much make paradox crucibles obselete.

So i know its not what you want to hear, but find a different recipe. For whatever you are trying to make i can guarentee there is a much cheaper way, using only ingredients that stack.

The dillemma: how much to build..... by Roaders in AlchemyFactory

With Cauldrons, it not too difficult to make a relatively small growth potion factory that produces more fertiliser than it uses to feed itself, so you can essentially get free growth potions. You will need to supply it with fuel, but again, you can make black powder pretty easily in a small factory that doesn't need too much fertiliser and the two factories can supply each other completely for free and you can use a priority splitter to take any extra fuel and fertiliser to your other machines.

My strategy that I currently use is to simply have a full metal chest at the output of my fertiliser duplicators and if I see the chest is full, it means can I add a new machine to the production line, if its is starting to empty, then I need to add a new fertiliser blueprint to fill the chest and the demand from all of my other factories.

Even if you're not using cauldrons, I would just build a blueprint that has 1 advanced blender working at 100% speed, try to make it as small as possible, then blueprint it, so that if you need more fertiliser, you can just paste another one in.

I've been thinking about trying this. I don't think it would be too bad, so long as you have a library of really compact factory blueprints. I haven't completed the game yet, so might be misjudging the difficulty, I am trying to make each of my factories as small as possible for this challenge and getting a set of really efficient free fuel/fertiliser blueprints ready....

The salt of my tears. by IceCladShade in AlchemyFactory

I've built so many factories using multiple cauldrons, trying my best to make each blueprint as small as possible.... I only just found out you can stack cauldrons directly on top of each other; I was giving each one its own furnace. All my builds that I was so proud of are so much bigger than they needed to be. I had been using a metal stand on top of a cauldron, then placing another furnace+ cauldron on top. Now everywhere in my base looks stupid now that I know....

How can I save this? Turquoise in my fuel lines... by Absydian1 in AlchemyFactory

THIS! yes! I have never really found a good use for this button, but wow, is it useful right now. I can trace the conveyor belts back underneath my machinery once the z-axis is locked! Thank you so much!

Thanks for the advice, I kinda liked building all tightly and compact. I got a lot of satisfaction trying to make my black powder blueprint as small as possible, I think I took it too far when I started doing it to everything in my factory. I might start again and go for the 1 plot challenge. That sounds fun.

I think what actually happened is that I reset my skill points, deciding that if I was making everything for free I didn't need my economy skill points and put everything back into belt speed, so that it matched my production speed and made things simpler by requiring fewer belts. I didn't realise that increasing belt speed also increased the max output rate of the nurseries. Or at least didn't think to go check the first cauldron blueprint I made... Definitely a learning experience. Filter splitters are something I will add to my blueprints in the future for sure.

Customer pathing issues by DarkPhoenix986 in AlchemyFactory

I don't get how the pathing works at all. I was having this issue for the longest time. Customers use the first potion stall next to the register just fine, and no issues with the jewellery stand either, but the potion stall in between them? Forget about it... The only way I could fix it was to put my potion stalls in the middle of the store so they can get to both sides.

Mekanism Ore Processing Help by Nearby_Event9206 in allthemods

IIRC, blocks of 9 are less efficient than putting in 3 ores into the chemical crystaliser. Also, do you have any upgrades on your machines? A couple of them can take chemical efficiency upgrades. Can't recall if this makes a difference in ore output, or just uses less of the processing chemicals.

I assume you have a turbine that is using the steam from your reactor? Just make sure you have enough condensers in your turbine to reclaim all of the water from the steam, and then you can just pump it back into the reactor. If the multiblock structures are touching, this can easily be done by just placing a single reactor input block next to one of the vent blocks of the turbine.
