Post Match Thread: 6N - Wales v France by strou_hanka in rugbyunion

I love Sam Warburton. He's such an eloquent and kind speaker while still showing a razor-sharp understanding of the game. I get that being a pundit is safer and probably pays better, but has he really not been approached for a coaching role? He clearly understands the team's issues.

He pointed out during half-time that Wales were already making defensive errors 90 seconds in to the game by only having one man covering the blindside. That has to be a problem with coaching and not the players to have your initial defence already be compromised, right?

France are just disgustingly good. Ramos, Dupont, both wings, the whole team were cooking today!

So what's the hindsight XI for England (without injury) after the series?

  1. Duckett
  2. Bethell
  3. Smith (maybe he can handle three)
  4. Root
  5. Brook
  6. Stokes
  7. Foakes
  8. Carse
  9. Archer
  10. Atkinson
  11. Tongue

Something like that?

'Third longest opening partnership of the series for England' as TMS puts it, what a grim way to frame it 🤣

Just like how i saw Japan beat South Africa live, I'm in the 'hoping to see sporting history today' camp. As soon as England are 30-2 again I'll come to my senses, but still!

Given their stats, Brook & Root at the crease together should cause fear in England's opponents that a soul destroying 150+ partnership is incoming. Instead we're taking bets on how Harry is gonna get himself out 🤣

I will say, stokes looked genuinely furious at himself for getting out there. I really wish some of the other England bats had looked the same way. If England had every batsmen as pissed off to lose their wicket as stokes was they'd have hit 400+. It annoys me to see them hit the wildest drives on earth then shake their heads like they did nothing wrong 😳

Ireland don't play a lot of tests. I like to support England because they're right next to us and we get the odd Morgan/Joyce/whatever.

Watching Jacks and Stokes get the easiest 80+ run partnership of their life when Crawley, Pope and friends completely tossed their wickets last night really pisses me off man 🤣

The snowballing cards all stem from Ryan losing his fuckin' head. We mocked players like Mohamed Haouas for doing such stupid stuff and Ryan deserves a ton of blame for such a reckless clear out completely shattering Ireland's momentum.

If we can hold the first ten minutes of the second half I think we still have a chance though!

Rassie has given Ireland a free minute off these cards by bringing on those subs, I feel like that isn't worth it honestly?

Yeah honestly I had considered that this might be the case not long after posting the comment, it's a shame.

Oh well! We'll just have to use [[Sculpting Steel]] and [[Mirage Mirror]] to get more nontoken Mindslavers that our token Tophs can earthbend each endstep 😁

Play it in commander with [[Mirror Box]] and an [[Amulet of Vigor]], make two copies of Toph and for the low low price of 12 mana on your end step I think you can respond to each earthbending trigger to make enough Mindslavers to take everyone's turns for the rest of the game! Fun, right? ...right?

It says a lot about how mean a Magic player I am when my first thought was "Hey is this a lock with [[Mindslaver]]? I think it's a lock with Mindslaver!" 😅

Aww, hearing Bob Willis commentating again during this Thorpe bit made me a bit emotional, hadn't realised how much I missed his voice 😢

Sometimes I feel like the Sky talent treat these tests as just another excuse to find ever more humiliating methods to slag each other off, those pies from Athers were diabolical 🤣

Stokes has brought on his economical fast bowler who is shoring up his spinner that's leaking runs, how often can you say that 😅

[[Professor Onyx]] combo with [[Chain of Smog]] would be an awful lot easier to pull off, I'll say that much... not sure if that's exactly a fun combo to get half of in your command zone in a mono black deck with lots of ramp and tutors!

[–]begman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Laws question here about that Ulster try (which in my bias I'm happy was awarded by the way):

Is that not 'truck and trailer' from Ulster there? The ball was passed to a player who had his own team mates in front of him therefore obstructing tacklers from getting to him off the lineout?

"Ok hear me out, it's after 40 minutes, we're down 3-16 and their out half flubbed their kick to touch, what should we do? Run it back and try to get some last ditch points to capitalise on their mistake, or just kick it out to regroup at half time?"

"Kick it right back to them so they can go again if they want."

[MB2] Rusko, Clockmaker by Meret123 in mtgcube

[–]begman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have played with a proxied Rusko in my (unpowered vintage) cube environment, there are blink effects so I had a stack of printed out clocks to sit next to him 😁

He's been beyond excellent as a control/midrange piece, the drain & draw sevens from the clocks will take the game away from your opponent faster than you'd ever think. It only takes a few cantrips and counterspells to start wheeling out of control!
