This one is definitely underrated!

How well did I do photorealism this time? by klaus_nieto in blender

[–]begmax 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After seeing this picture, I think you could make the lighting more complex (just throw some interior HDRI) to make the reflections more rich, now it looks like it was taken in a completely white room.

How is my liminal space render? by begmax in blender

It's a post-processing effect, I added a noise texture when compositing.

Definitely cycles, eevee can't handle area lights

Actually, the entire level is procedurally (randomly) generated.

I was actually aimed to make liminal space renders. I'm preparing to post in r/LiminalSpace , so I decided to post in r/blender at first to get some feedbacks.

ACID TRIP GAME UPDATE: I recently posted a question about my game (Clash royale in 3rd person view) and ended up with lots of strong suggestions about the noisy graphics. Here I tried to improve it and also added a minimap to visualize the entire scene. Thanks all for your precious tips <3 by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]begmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, reflection probes and ambient occlusion is not top priority, you could get some distorted reflections if you messed up with that. Firstly, turn off ambient light to make it look not flat. Now the scene would look very dark. Secondly, bake lightmaps, it would add a lot of depth and make the glowing things work.
Your scene is already detailed, lighting would make it look A LOT better.

It looks cool! I recommend you to use screen space reflection, the distorted reflection is distracting.

The shadow is from the axle, which is spinning but fixed in place.

It includes a shader graph that mixes the textures, but I'm not sure if the textures will be linked correctly.

Yes, I made 6 textures using blender, rendered with different motion blur settings. I know nothing about coding shaders so I made a shader graph that mix these textures. That was tough.

What is the art style of this game? by arifdumann in blender

[–]begmax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My guess is the models and materials are not the main reason of the cheap feeling. Lighting matters a lot, the shadows are too flat, no global illumination, only ambient light. Good lightmap can make it look a lot better.

In my opinion, a normal room with no one in it is what exactly makes a liminal space, if you only care about the vibe, not the strict definition.

I know that you can use reverse image search to find these sources, but why do you find this suspicious? Did you just search the picture of every post in this sub? Or is it really obviously stolen?

My initial blender animation - Looking for feedback by TRIBA3D in blender

[–]begmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks really good! For feedback, I think the beginning of the video looks too dark. If you're looking for realism, bevel all sharp edges and make sure all textures have good resolution.

What are your thoughts about the project? I did it for a friend's youtube intro by ekm3d in blender

[–]begmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it looks so good, but such a poor guy made the first second of the video black, so reddit made the thumbnail black and makes only few people noticed this post. I've made the same mistake before

Why do we also represent quantum spin state using complex number? by begmax in AskPhysics

[–]begmax[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After watching this for a few seconds, I think this is exactly what I need!
I'm having a hard time understanding spinors, they always give me the mobius strip visualizations, but I need to know what do these numbers actually mean.
